Nomadic camping
Best for self-contained campers. There are no toilets, showers, or potable water at this Hipcamp.
Once owned by a local farmer who divided his land into 4 lots and sold them before he passed away. This tranquil coal valley property will have a 3 bedroom guest house available apart from the campsite. There are future plans of having other off grid cabins in the bushland, enjoying breathtaking views, fresh air, wildlife and the great food available around the coal river area.Come and enjoy this grassy site, close to a small stream and small fruit tree orchard. Nearby we have horses at one neighbour and pet sheep at the other side. The spot is sheltered and away from the road with some trees. There are no facilities here, campers will need to BYO camp toilet and camp shower, and leave no trace.  Campfires welcome in the provided fire drum! You can purchase split firewood for an additional $20 per night, add this to your booking at checkout.  We are close to the tourist town of Richmond, about a 2 minute drive. Richmond is a charming town about 24 km northeast of Hobart. Richmond is rich in history and architecture, with more than 50 historic buildings, mostly from the 1820s. Delicious food and wine is plentiful right in town, as well as in the surrounding region of Coal River Valley. Please note: the friendly hosts live on the land a few hundred meters away.
