Camping is in an idyllic location beside the Leven River, within a 100 acre natural forested property. The property fringes the Dial range nature recreation area and a nature conservation reserve. Camping is on river flats within a lush green ferny forested and sometimes misty valley, below Mt Duncan and Mt Lorymer. Very nearby there are popular hiking and mountain biking trails.
Adjacent to the camping area the Leven River has some of the best trout fishing in North West Tasmania. There's places to kayak along with private river beaches to sit and relax, enjoy a paddle, swim or have a picnic.
Camping is on river flats, tent's and campervans can settle into grassy clearings within the Wattle's. While larger vans can set up on a larger cleared grassy area. There plenty of open space to throw a frisbee or have a game of cricket.
The property is accessed from a very scenic 4 km well maintained gravel road that winds downhill to the base of the the valley.
***Please note there are no facilities. Please bring a camping toilet (there's a dumping point in Knights Rd, West Ulverstone) and your own rubbish collection.
Campfires are permitted when there are no local fire restrictions in place .
This campsite by the Leven River offers a mixed experience. While many enjoy its peaceful setting and proximity to the river for activities like swimming and kayaking, others note issues with unclear site booking and access difficulties. Some guests have expressed frustration with the lack of signage and the steep paths leading to the river, which could be challenging for some. Overall, it's a place where nature thrives, but the logistics could use some improvement to enhance the visitor experience.

Was lovely and sheltered and river was nice to swim in. We didn’t know before going that it’s a reasonably steep decline into the property on gravel roads and is just find a spot and set up. Was a great few days.
Overall this was an ok place to stay. The booking system requires you to book a site, but there are no "sites" which caused some confusion with campers who arrived later. There is no signage.
A group had parked their vans and vehicles directly in front of the only access to the 'beach' area which meant no one else could get through except by walking up the road and across a fallen fence. The road is not pedestrian friendly with more traffic than expected and a lot of that traffic was moving fast. This was a concern with dogs and young children.
All other access to the river is very steep and has wire from washed out fences across the path.
We pulled into a tiny triangle paddock, nothing like the pictures showed . Only one access to the river … booked site 9 … well there was caravans just parked anywhere. Why book a site to be told by campers that you park wherever. Payed $140 for 3 nights . So we left and went somewhere else …
Wouldn’t recommend it!
