We've been living off the grid for over 30 years. Come visit us and learn about our way of life! Enjoy complete privacy in a cozy forest retreat hut in a beautiful hollow in Middle Tennessee. Accommodates 2. Pretty steep 200 yd uphill hike to hut. Perfect for relationship getaway, spiritual retreat, or writing - planning intensive. Nationally-known spelunking (Indian Grave Point Cave) within 1/2 mile. 3 miles from Center Hill Lake. Hiking trails. Experience our alternative lifestyle with owner built solar log home, organic gardens and sculpture studio. Guests must arrive before dark to ensure finding correct address (GPS errs a last moment) and to facilitate hike up to hut. Potable water, trash disposal, and a toilet are available on site. Pets are permitted, as well as campfires (outside of burn bans). Guests love staying here: "Wow! This place is amazing, beautiful, peaceful, relaxing, and super cozy on cold nights. I can not recommend this place enough. William is a gracious host. He made sure I had enough wood for the wood stove and spring water to drink. If you are anywhere close and want a totally unique experience check this place out."

William was very hospitable and showed us around his property. The site and hut had everything we needed. As the description said, the hike to hut is indeed very steep.

First class Hipcamp!
Excellent! One of a kind . Don't take my word on it, go see it yourself! You will not be disappointed. I brought my dog along and he made friends with the most amazing little tour guide ever! Thanks Rocket for hanging out and showing us up to the cabin! If you like peace and quiet this is your place. The only problem was I only had the time to stay one night. I will return for sure.

Beautiful area and space! We slept in hammocks because the weather was so nice and got to watch fireflies all night!

Big Beech Campsite
Peaceful rest in the holler
What a delight! William’s property is stunningly beautiful, a welcome respite for road weary travelers. The fireflies lulled me to sleep and my dogs loved sniffing around and exploring the peaceful woods during our stay. The handcrafted cedar outhouse might be the most beautiful toilet I have ever had the pleasure of using. We finished our stay with a lovely hike on trails circumnavigating the property. Highly recommend.

The absolute best
Had some much needed peace n quiet w the missus. When we arrived we were greeted by the two kindest individuals to ever roam the face of this rock we call earth. As we’re here for the banaroo festivities to see cage the elephant live. I do note the if you have a low vehicle exercise caution on the road there we bottomed out more than a few times and do take a tour of his workshop as it is well worth seeing his work thank y’all for the wonderful experience. We look to come back for the winter
