beautiful campsites along the water
The campsite was well stocked with towels toilet paper it had an electrical outlet there were kayaks and games for the kids the water was beautiful and multiple access points made it very easy to enjoy everything. There was plenty of shade, so even in the hot sun we felt a cool breeze along the waters edge. I highly recommend this place, and we will definitely be back with friends! Thank you Bridget for a wonderful stay!!

THE RIVERRAT-SHACK
We enjoyed the River Shack a lot! The town of Smithville and State Parks were only about a 10 minute drive from the site. We enjoyed hammocking, seeing the cows, and watching movies in the hot tub. We would definitely stay again!

Best stay ever
I stayed here for Mother's Day Weekend and I had a blast. Bridget was very helpful and her hospitality was top tier. Anything you would need she would be there to help you. I felt safe and secure my whole stay there. If you would like to enjoy nature and relax. 10/10 I highly recommend. I will definitely be booking with Bridget again.

Perfect Host | A Unforgettable Stay
We went overnight tent camping on Bridget's land. From the time that we booked to the time that we left, Bridget was the perfect host! Not only was the owner hospitable, but the land is gorgeous and full of memorable surprises.
Upon arrival, Bridget personally escorted us to our campsite and then provided a tour of the grounds. She even graciously demonstrated how to utilize amenities like the tankless water heater (yay endless hot water)!
The campground has campfire rings at each site, cozy lounge chairs, numerous hammocks, and an array of board games & water activities such as fishing, kayaking, and inflatable float tubes.
What was very nice: is that each campsite feels secluded and private; while still maintaining an atmosphere of community and safety. We had a group of neighbors while there and encountered no disturbances or noise issues throughout our stay.
My favorite part: was waking up in the morning to see a herd of cattle journeying down to the river for a drink. The cows were very mannerable, maintaining their distance, and seemed to have their own little daily routine. There is no need to worry about them approaching or getting too close, but it is site to behold, and feels like a scene lifted straight from a movie. Plus there are fireflies at night!
Last: The restrooms/showers are cleaned and maintained well, if you happen to forget any toiletries, courtesy items are available... in addition to Walmart & Brookshire Brothers being just 10-20mins up the road.

Escape to Nature
Absolutely loved camping on Bridget's land! Camping by the river was a dream ā the soothing sounds made for a peaceful night's sleep. The bathhouse with hot water was a luxurious touch, and seeing the cow in the morning added to the charm of the place. Bridget's warm welcome made us feel welcome, and she was incredibly attentive to our needs throughout our stay. Highly recommend for a tranquil camping experience!

We had a great time on our trip and would be happy to come back. Bridget was an excellent host, the land was beautiful and the facilities were comfortable and clean. We loved making friends with the cows who stopped by to see us off as a herd while we broke down our camp.
