Ancient Oaks
Weekend getaway from the DFW area
I absolutely loved my stay at EcoRich Ranch. I was in the Ancient Oaks campsite and would definitely stay again. The campsite itself is pretty clear and open but, if you plan to venture out in any direction at night, make sure to carry a stick to clear the paths of spider webs. My pups and I found our way down to the creek and walked around the pond. The picnic table was clean and in relatively good condition. It probably seats 4 so if you have a large party you may want to bring a folding table along. I didn’t have a fire but the firepit looked nice with a few stumps around it and a pile of scrap wood nearby that would’ve burned well. I’m not the best at planning and booked last minute. I messaged Emory to let him know I would be arriving late and to confirm that would be ok. He responded promptly and even in the dark I found the directions provided through hipcamp to be accurate and easy to follow. I have AT&T and didn’t have much signal but a solid bar was enough to make calls and text messages. Obviously away from the canopy of the campsite was better. I never used the outhouse but it’s there should you need it. It’s a bucket but it’s got privacy walls and it’s close to camp which is more than enough if ya gotta go. Remember to bring your own toilet paper or 3 seashells, whatever you want to wipe with.

Richardson Creek
The two creek-front spots are perfect for edgedwellers who like to have one foot in beautiful open land, and another in the forested creek. Underbrush is cleared away at sites and there’s plenty of wild area to explore.

River Rock Camp
Great camping option
This was a fantastic and beautiful camp site. It was fully shaded and right next to the river. The bathrooms were “rustic” but adequate for tent camping. I plan to be back and bring my family.

Richardson Creek
Perfect Seclusion & Private Creek!
I was elated when I pulled up to the campsite with only 20 minutes till sunset and realized the whole campsite was manicured, cut back, and prepared for me!
It made my unpacking and setting up camp extremely easy even had fire wood laid out to start a fire for light, into the evening!
The enclosed, gated, seclusion of the campsite under The canopy of trees and close proximity to private Creek area was amazing for me and my dog! We felt like it was our little patch of riverfront property for the weekend! Plenty of level areas for tents and trees for hammocks! Perfect hammock spot in a ring if trees I used, couldn't have been BETTER!
My dog and I totally enjoyed going down by the river and walking up the creek throwing rocks and utilizing it as our own private swimming hole/ wadding area to cool down, wash off and enjoy nature. I even did some journaling down there one morning being with nature with the sound of the bubbling little waterfall flowing.
The only slight inconvenience were the flys, depending on which side of camp I was in. Makes sense with the proximity to the cow pasture and open pit toilet, possibly a lid would have helped, but for some reason the really weren't near the back of camp, towards the wooded area, nor down by the creek!
Bug repellent didn't keep them away so I just tried to ensure I kept a fire going.... Idk if that helped but at times they weren't an issue, other times.... Well, it's nature!

Ancient Oaks
We had a large group that camped and it was a wonderful spot for all of us! The kids loved climbing a nearby tree and swimming in the pond. The wildflowers everywhere were beautiful! We will be back!

Beautiful spot
Awesome little spot. Emory was a great host. We had a bit of trouble finding the location and he went out of his way to guide us there. Will book again.
