All to yourself
100% of recent Hipcampers say this Hipcamp felt private.
Conveniently located between between South Gippsland and West Gippsland this property offers peace and spectacular views towards Strzlecki and the rolling hills of South Gippsland. Only twelve minutes from the town of Leongatha and thirty minutes from the beaches of Inverloch. From Inverloch you can drive along the coast road to Cape Patterson, across to the historical mining township of Wonthaggi and then over to Phillip Island. Wilson's Promontory is an easy hour and a half away, or stop at Warratah Bay or Sandy Point and enjoy the beaches and ocean views there. Closer to home there are many markets to choose from including the quaint Kongwak market tucked away in a quiet, hidden valley. This is a small, intimate market offering great home cooked food and live music. The attractions of the Latrobe Valley are less than an hour away with nurseries and gardens, galleries and antique shops, there is plenty to see. From March to May 2024 the Gippsland Art Gallery in Sale features the incredible textile art of Annemeika Mein. The host wholeheartedly embraces the Hipcamp inclusion policy. This is a safe space for people from all walks of life.Site is a flat grassy area surrounding a new farm dam with amazing, inspiring views of South Gippsland. Fairly private and not visible to nearest neighbours. Currently visible in part to distant neighbours a few hills away. Cows graze the paddocks but do not have access to the camp site while it is being used. There is a new farm dam on the site which is currently ok for a paddle on a hot day. The dam will hopefully be full by late 2024. There are plans to beautify the dam surrounds and guest will be invited to plan a tree which can be marked in their memory- you can see its progress in subsequent visits. Guests will need to be fully self contained as there is no power, water, washing facilities, sewage or potable water on the site, only peace and breathtaking views. Guests will need to take all rubbish with them including biodegradable waste, food, cigarette butts, etc. Access to the site is by Four wheel drive vehicle only which is set up for off road use, or walking. Walkers will need to be fit as the hills on the way to the site are steep. There are stud book registered Shetland ponies on the property. We do not offer animal interaction experiences due to insurance limitations however you are free to watch their antics and the husbandry and care by the owner. Please note that this campsite is for quiet enjoyment only. Sound can carry a very long way in the country and we don't want to upset the residents of neighbouring properties. For this reason we ask that people do not play loud music indoors or outdoors. We also cannot accommodate parties or groups of people planning to become intoxicated. We do not condone the use of illicit drugs, so please don't bring any with you.

Bike packers well looked after
Tent
Stunning location, even in the rain, and it did clear up. The valley and rolling hills are spectacular. We arrived as bike packers with very small tents and the site at the top of the hill would have been very windy - but Vivienne and her mum were so helpful in finding somewhere more sheltered for us. We did walk to the top of the site that evening, which had become calm and the views are breathtaking. As its says on the info, and also visitors posts, you will need a good 4WD if you want to drive to the top through the steep grassy paddocks.

Me and my Partner loved our stay here. Vivienne was a lovely host who walked us all the way up to the top campsite which had stunning views. It can get a bit windy up there but not an issue if everything is set up properly

So peaceful

Fantastic host, amazing views. Loved it. Made it to the site with some assistance but would recommend smaller vans and campers rather than our 23’6 van.
