This property was once a 300 acre plus tobacco farm.
The original log cabin was built in the 1850s and now serves as our dining room.
The front portion of the house was completed in April of 1861 and the back in the early 1900s.
We have plans to eventually turn it into a working farm which produces tinctures, salves and extracts of various native plants including hemp.
Learn more about this land:
Heavily wooded mountain side with flowing creek. Easy access (walking distance) to Jefferson National Forest, National Forest horse trail and the Blue Ridge Parkway. (Note: You cannot drive to the Blue Ridge Parkway as the path is an old forest road which has been gated, but you can walk up to it.) We also have a tree house which has AC, heat and electrical connection. Only site 4 is next to the brook. However, the site positions are for the purposes of the listing only. You may camp anywhere on the property. There is plenty of frontage on the creek and several tents can go up there. The toilets at the treehouse and the bus are flushing, camping toilets with sinks.

We stayed for one night, the drive over was breathtaking! Parking was easy, all rules were easy to follow and understand. The treehouse was gorgeous but it was not built properly. It didn't have enough support and would rock with any slight, sudden movement.
The treehouse is near a creek which is really beautiful. Space heater, AC, vacuum, hammock, fire pit included. Really nice and responsive owner... but structurally, the treehouse needs more support.
Also, the owner has a small/medium puppy who was supposed to be fenced or on a leash but was out roaming the property and would get in the way while trying to park/leave the property. Very good boy, he's really sweet but definitely made us worry while moving our car around and out of the property.
This was my first time camping solo. I was gonna go with my roomate however ended up going alone. I was a little nervous bout going alone however Roni was super easy to get ahold of and responded in a timely manner. Property was adorable. Only thing was it was kinda hard to find my camp spot as spaces weren’t labeled/label had rubbed off. But everything was fantastic. 10/10
Had a great time and Roni gave us some tomato’s from her garden — they were delicious! The house was nice and warm and my sister and I loved waking up surrounded by trees and mountains.
