Book this hidden gem!
Phenomenal location and looks even more beautiful in-person! Wendy was helpful and made us feel welcome and safe during our stay. Firewood was plentiful, cheap, and easy to access. The river was accessible from the sight and we enjoyed taking a dip! Also, felt super private! Other campers were far enough away that we didn’t see or hear them.
10/10

Perfect spot for a weekend getaway or all week stay. Right next to the river which is great when it gets super hot out so you can cool off, plenty of shade as well to keep sunlight directly off of you. 10/10 would recommend.

Great if not in overflow
Beautiful sunrise with a nice view of a mountain, next to a stream. My experience was a little different due to someone overbooking the sites and me being put in an "overflow site" as a result but I think this is likely not a normal experience. It did feel like I was punished for someone else's mistake, though. There were barking dogs and people loading in boats through my site at 7am, but thankfully I was already up. If you are at a normal site, this will likely not be your experience.

Best camping site ever!
Where do I start? This place was magic for me. I went on a solo camping trip with my 2 dogs. Upon my arrival, I could see that the property was clean, quiet and well laid out. Each camp site has plenty of privacy from the neighboring sites. I stayed at site 5 on the end, which is the best one in my opinion. There were two tables, a bench & a fire pit. I purchased firewood for $10, which is a huge deal, considering you can fill a wagon for only $10. It was hot out, but the breeze and shade at camp was spectacular. I never felt too hot! The water there is beautiful, shallow and will lull you to sleep when you go to bed. There are trains that come through periodically, but I didn’t find that annoying or problematic. I actually kindof liked the sound. Ha! My dogs were able to roam around freely, sniffing, meeting new people and going down to the water at will. Surprisingly, I only came home with 1 mosquito bite. I consider that pretty spectacular, considering that it’s mid June. There are a few gas stations and a pizza place not far from the camp site, so that was helpful when I needed more ice and water. Scotto’s pizza slices were yummy! Wendy is great too! So personable and helpful. She checked on me a couple times to make sure I was okay. I can’t recommend this place enough! Will definitely be going back again!

Things to know before you go
It was a pretty nice camp area but it was very loud. Train was going several times a day and ran a few times in the evening. There is no running water so use water bottles. Also, there was no place to dispose of trash so bring a trash bag. Other than that, it was beautiful and right on the river and just 5 min drive to natural bridge state park. Not any close walkable trails but the river is right there if you have a kayak or something. Wendy was also a great host.
