Passage Creek is stocked with Trout. Voted Top VA site! See Reviews. Pastimes on Passage Creek Ranch is conveniently located at the north end of Fort Valley. The recreational draw to this area is hard to beat in VA and this property has it all for an amazing outdoor weekend! The ranch consists of 40 acres of low-land pasture, groomed perfectly for camping groups large or small. The Lakeside Mountain Stream site offers the option to camp on our 5-acre lake or camp creekside in the Cedar Grove sites along the banks of Passage Creek. Creek access varies at each site depending on the bank. The Ceadar Grove sites are just a short walk to the lake and beach amenities. The property has 1/2mi of Passage Creek wrapping around all the campsites, as well as, the privet lake to enjoy. I have all kinds of boats to try out and the waters are stocked with Bass, Blue Gill, and Catfish. Please catch and release. Passage Creek is stocked with Rainbow, Brown, Tiger, and Brook Trout throughout the year. The prime waters are just a mile upstream from Pastimes on Passage Creek Ranch. The Creekside Cedar sites are located within a sparse, groomed, Cedar grove along the banks of Passage Creek. These sites are extra large and can accommodate multiple family groups, as well as, travel trailers of all sizes up to off-road motorcoaches in site 1. There are no hookups, so It's just boondocking. Pack it in, Pack it out. Generators are allowed but please be aware of the other sites and direct the noise away. Groups of up to 25 people per site can realistically fit. Each site is very large with car camping space included. The Lakeside Mountain Stream site is very secluded, nestled between the mountains and the lake. It overlooks our 5-acre lake with mirror mountain views in the background. This site also has its own dock and is just a short walk down a mowed trail to a beautiful section of Passage Creek. An additional seasonal mountain stream can cascade behind the site and run under it to feed the lake when the conditions are right. The road can accommodate bumper pulls up to about 35ft to make the turn at the site. However, it is best suited for lighter traffic and smaller tent groups. At higher capacity, single-file parking is needed along the lake road. Max 10 people in order to keep some grass on the ground. Please, if you need more space - go to one of the Cedar Grove sites. Locally, the North end of Fort Valley offers many great hiking trails, trout fishing, rock climbing, horseback riding, and the Elizabeth Furnace day-use park. Taskers Gap OHV/ATV park is a short drive south, and the valley is sandwiched between both forks of the Shenandoah River for those looking to paddle. Additionally, the local towns (Front Royal, Strasburg, Woodstock) offer their own charm and wide range of activities and attractions.

Awesome trip (and a 5lb bass too!)

We had an incredible time at passage creek! We stayed at the cedar grove 1 site (all of the cedar grove sites are pretty much the same, all great). The host Eric was great to work with and had everything taken care of for our visit. The morning sunrise over the ridge was a fantastic way to start the day! We spent some time up and down passage creek fishing - didn’t catch much, don’t think there are a lot of fish in this stretch, but it was beautiful and peaceful piece of water…just steps from the campsite. My son did catch a bunch of fish (including one of the infamous 5+ pounders) from the AMAZING pond they built on site. It’s spring fed and nearly crystal clear…just beautiful. Be prepared since there’s no power or water, but the port-a-john’s are very clean and well maintained. Firewood available as well. It was a great time - will definitely be coming back if ever anywhere near the area!!

A Fisherman’s Delight!
My buddy and I wanted to snag an early spring fishing trip, and with most of the nearby campsites booked, we stumbled across Pastimes on Passage Creek and it did not disappoint! The property is clearly labeled and easy to navigate, with signage posted on trees to guide you around the various campsites. We were lucky enough to book the Lakeside Mountain Stream campsite for a couple nights, and it was an absolute gem. You get the whole corner of the lake to yourself, super quick access to Passage Creek and a private dock with a picnic table on it to boot! There are tons of kayaks, canoes, and other water vessels to choose from, with life vests, paddles and everything you need to enjoy some time on the water. One of the coolest little perks was the free fish food in old school gum-ball machines to feed the bluegill off the docks…and it’s so much fun to watch them munch! There was absolutely no shortage of good largemouth bass and we had great success getting them to bite! We also had the pleasure of meeting our host, Eric, and enjoyed some great conversation. We even were lucky enough to be around when he was feeding the fish! Such a great time, amazing vibes, and a one-of-a-kind camping and fishing experience for me. Thanks again for the hospitality, Eric! I will definitely be back!

Loved the site. The bathrooms were exceptional. Host was very communicative. We loved the horses just over the stream. The lake was an awesome bonus that our kids loved. All in all a wonderful experience.

Disconnect and go!
20 ft travel trailer · With pets ·
We absolutely loved our time at Eric’s place. We stayed at the spot by the lake and truly loved every minute. The property is stunning and very well manicured and cared for. Our kids fished and kayaked for hours on end, we listened to the crazy frogs, walked to the creek, disconnected and truly had the best time. Even the portapotties were clean! We couldn’t recommend this place more. We also hiked the Buzzard Rock trail which is only a few minutes down the road. If you’re looking to unplug from life and just rest and soak in nature, this is the place!

Excellent site for the weekend. I would definitely recommend the lake side site. Very private with a great view. Eric was a great host and made sure we had everything we needed.
