In a remote valley, along the banks of Craig's Creek, just north of Roanoke VA, the property includes mature hardwood forest, pasture, and an 1830s log cabin where we live. We love to share this special place with visitors, and have some basic amenities for campers. The campsites are at the edge of a large pasture and just a few steps from Craig Creek and our big swimmin' hole. Totally secluded in a remote valley - no houses or roads in sight (but our cabin is a short walk through the woods if you need something), no cell service for most providers, but within a short drive of Roanoke and Blacksburg, and countless outdoor recreation opportunities.

I love it at Ned and Alexis’ land. Peaceful, beautiful, restful. My second time. I’m sure I’ll come again.

Savage Acres: Creekside Woods
My boyfriend, a couple friends and I stayed at the creekside site and it was absolutely amazing. The personal little beach on the beautiful creek is just perfect. And the bigger beach just down to the right of the site was also stunning. We definitely plan on swimming next time! Easily the most beautiful site/property/area we have ever camped in. Highly recommend!!

Goregeous Site
Amazing site! With great access to the creek. Goregeous property and super friendly host. The kids loved it and slept very peaceful. The lighting gave an amazing touch to the site. Would love to come back soon. Alexis, the host was amazing and after my truck completely died and had to leave it there overnight, with no hesitation she understood and even waited for the tow truck the following day to hand out my truck key. Communicated all the way through the situation. I cant thank her enough. Will most deff come back soon!

Walnut Bottom
Awesome site in a super cute town!
We loved this spot! It’s downhill from two sites and uphill from a third, so you’re close to other campers but have lots of privacy! Since it was just me and my best friend- two women- this was perfect for feeling safe but also secluded! It was hot when we went but this site is completely covered by trees so it felt perfect the whole time. The creek is a really short (& pretty) walk from the site so doing dishes and washing up was no issue. The swimming hole access is completely separate from the creekside spot so you won’t be intruding on someone else’s campsite. I did have a run in with a yellow jacket but was provided with baking soda by the land hand and made a paste- worked perfectly so no biggie. No run ins with snakes. Cute coffee shops in town. The locals are more than happy to share good fishing spots! This is probably my favorite spot yet!

Savage Acres: Creekside Woods
Creekside paradice
Plenty of privacy along a refreshing creek. Loved the perfectly level drive-up site steps from a swim. Other campers will gravitate towards the creek so you won't be alone there but it was just as much fun and I will definitely plan a return trip, especially for McAfee Knob

Savage Acres: Maple Knoll
Maple Knoll was a beautiful spot for our travel trailer. It was nice and level and the meadow offered nightly firefly watching. Craig’s Creek babbling in the back was relaxing, and the mountain backdrop was beautiful. Our dog loved exploring. We enjoyed coffee under the big beautiful maple tree in the morning. We’ll definitely be back!
