In a remote valley, along the banks of Craig's Creek, just north of Roanoke VA, the property includes mature hardwood forest, pasture, and an 1830s log cabin where we live. We love to share this special place with visitors, and have some basic amenities for campers. The campsites are at the edge of a large pasture and just a few steps from Craig Creek and our big swimmin' hole. Totally secluded in a remote valley - no houses or roads in sight (but our cabin is a short walk through the woods if you need something), no cell service for most providers, but within a short drive of Roanoke and Blacksburg, and countless outdoor recreation opportunities.

Creekside Woods

This was our second visit, overall it was great. It’s serene and secluded, Ned and the other hosts are all super friendly and their pups are sweet. We were definitely let down due to the noise level in the very early morning hours, there was a group on the hill and they chopped wood each morning at the crack of dawn. It was disappointing because we come to such a secluded place to enjoy waking up to the sounds of nature, not to wake up to the sounds of wood being chopped by people who either don’t understand or don’t care about camping etiquette. Wood can be chopped at any other point during the day. It is especially frustrating when there is also pre-chopped wood available by the hosts.

Walnut Bottom
Nice campsite, the location under the giant walnut tree and near a creek was lovely. There were some small pieces of trash around the edges of the site, and a large pile of dog poop. The picnic table was on it's last legs. There were portapotties within an easy walk. No water for washing camp dishes or refilling bottles, which was a real bummer.

Perfect area! Porta-potties are conveniently close and clean! Host are super friendly! Highly recommend this spot!

Walnut Bottom
We had a wonderful time this past weekend with our 3 pups. We stayed at walnut bottom which was snugged in the back left side of the property. We had access to a beautiful deep creek for swimming within steps of our site. Our dogs really enjoyed the water. We will be staying here again!

Creekside Woods
Great stay as always. Rain putter a slight damper on the trip but the creek was just refreshment I need to get away from the daily busy life. Can't wait until next time
