On a clear day you can see Mount Hood. Great stargazing at night away from bright lights. Lots of River Rock and Agates. Abundant wildlife. Mostly hilly and forested terrain. Nearby is Greek Bakery & monastery, Brooks Memorial State Park. Visit Goldendale Observatory, Maryhill museum & Stonehenge.

2 wonderful September nights in the beautiful Raven's Roost campsite. We visited the observatory for the late night show and we're glad for a convenient, 10-min drive to return after it ended at midnight. This is classic eastern Washington forested landscape with nice areas for hiking. The gravel pad easily accommodated our short Sprinter (and could have held my sister's Astro Van, too, if she had been able to join us). The huge tent pad was deluxe; we set up our table there since we didn't have tents, and could hold a shade tent in hotter months, too. I noticed another camper's comment about the portable toilet location seeming far away, but I timed the walk twice and arrived in under 60 seconds from the Ravens Roost site, so about the same as most established campgrounds. My only complaint is that there aren't any tables, but we worked around it just fine.

Absolutely beautiful views surrounded by nature. Nathan is still building and updating sites, I imagine they will only get better.

Ravens Roost
This is a beautiful property, wild and rugged. Saw deer and a big Mountain lion driving in to property. This is why I love this place. Both Cat and Nathan were friendly and helpful. Beautiful!!!!

Friendly, helpful, clean
Nate was a great and helpful host. Campsite was comfortable. Surroundings pleasant if unspectacular. Would've been great if the portable john was closer to our site though. That's a long walk to be facing in the middle of the night.

It is a beautiful area and quiet. Easy to drive to. It is about 10 miles north of the town.

Host extremely nice. Space was private. Lots of opportunities for walking and rock hounding. This particular spot was in no way close to a toilet, very disappointing in that aspect. The space is not 50’, more like 20’. It is also on a hill, so be aware that you need decent trailer maneuvering skills as you only have the one lane road to work with. As long as you don’t need a toilet, it was a fine stopover. There were some yellow jackets, that came out in larger numbers when a meal was being cooked, but otherwise were manageable.
