Lookout Arts Quarry is a vibrant rural arts cooperative with a lovely LAKE! Nestled on 61 acres of wetland and forest, just a mile off I-5. Once a rock quarry, this dynamic land now hosts inspiring festivals, intimate concerts, WWOOFers and wetland restoration work, and international artist residencies—not to mention our picturesque campground. Our proximity to Galbraith, a world-class mountain-biking destination is a key draw, and we feature the freshest private swimming hole around! Learn more about us at www.lookoutarts.com or follow us on social media @lookoutartsquarry 🥰 This is a campground for more self-sufficient and adventurous folks who want an alternative experience. The forests of the LAQ house myriad art installations and treasures; check out the "Saloon" stage, peep the pirate ship, and then jump into the 80-foot deep rainwater lake! Bring paddle boards and floating toys 🤿🐬 lay out in the sun on the floating wooden dock, or squirrel away reading a book in a hammock hidden in dense forest. We guarantee a lovely and unique camping experience. We are located in the Coast Salish Region on the traditional territory of the Nuwhaha and Nooksack Peoples.Read more about us at www.lookoutarts.com or follow our socials @lookoutartsquarry 🎪 While we keep the land open for community use during summer months, our energy is not directed toward full-time campground support: our campground is best suited for adventurous, respectful, kind, queer-friendly, self sufficient campers able and willing to follow instructions provided on this site. Leave no trace, packing out all garbage and recycling. The former rock quarry has filled with water creating a deep and clean glorious clothing optional swimming hole. No lifeguard on duty! For the sake of the wetland ecology, we ask that you don't wear sunscreen in the water! No peeing in there, either! There is currently one outdoor flush toilet, and many porta-potties. IMPORTANT CULTURAL DETAILS: ☞ Quiet Hours 11:11pm-8:08am (unless otherwise noted, or for special events) ☞ The Quarry swimming hole is clothing optional. Our residents are respectful and grounded folk who value consent and body positivity. ☞ We value the wildlife as we do human life. EXTRA DEETS: ☞ Rough terrain in areas. Avoid danger zones. ☞ Located near I-5 freeway so there is an ocean-like acoustic wash of the modern world. ☞ Drive slowly and carefully. There are snakes and beavers, ducks and children. ☞ Bus / Van / Car camping ~ many accessible zones with partial to full shade ☞ Partial privacy (lots of foliage and dynamic landscapes) Downtown Bellingham 15 mins north ~ Seattle is 1+ hrs south ~ Mt. Baker wilderness is 45 min, ferry to the San Juan islands is 30 min drive. LAQ is located on the traditional unceded ancestral territories of the Nuwhaha, Coast Salish Peoples. The quarry is gorgeous, as are all the art buildings. Wonderfully quiet. We had a great time.

It's good.
Tent
It's pretty awesome. Different than most campsites, but in a good way. They do art. Theatre, circus, music, dance things and it's amazing. There will be someone at the camp enjoying thier art so be prepared and excited because it's always a good experience here. On the camping side, down sides are that it's a little tricky to find a campsite in the dark, the highway can be loud, and there's no tables, but you'll be fine. It's worth the experience, just go. There's a lot of good stuff here to remember. Our favorite was the big frogs in the quarry that belch at night.
