This 5 acre homestead was originally homesteaded in the 1890s. It is still an active farm with goats, sheep, turkeys, chickens, guardian livestock dogs, cats and one Chihuahua. There is also several permaculture/orchard areas, berry patches and a large garden. We do offer 1 hour agritourism activities like farm tours, baby "Goat Yoga" and "Baby Goat Playtime" by reservation via the website. The area campers use is outside the barn yard, in the South orchard. Near the county road and parking lot. We're less than 30 minutes from the Kingston or Bainbridge Island ferry. 5 minutes from downtown Poulsbo, less than that from Central Market (the best grocery ever!). At this time, I do not have space for car camping or drive in campers, it is a walk in only site. Also, we are under burn ban, so no fires. ** Please note ** this is an active farm. There are roosters and dogs, they are not close to you, but you can hear them depending on where they might be. And, they are not mindful of the time. We are also one property away from Bond Rd, so there can be road noise.Pitch your tent in a quaint orchard & berry patch.  Wake up to the pleasant sounds of farm animals.  The tent camping is a very short walk from the parking area, where the portable toilet is located.  The Southfarling is outside, but near the barnyard.  Please note that on Saturdays, we do need the full parking area from 930am to about 315pm.  If you are planning on being on site during this time, we do have an alternative parking space for you, just let me know.

Bring your own water. In the front yard (where you walk through to get to the campsites), there is a bright yellow, food safe hose. You'll need to follow it to the house to turn it on (beware possible spider web between the bushes). We keep a yellow spray head on the end as a cap to prevent bugs and dirt, just screw that off, but leave the black part w/ the blue handle-this is what you'll use to open it for water. It's our well water and super delicious!

My stay here was pretty good! The hostess did mention that she'd tried to shut down her hipcamp and it hadn't worked but she let me stay anyway which I was greatful for especiallysince it was a last minute booking! She was very hospitable! 5 stars for her and her farm. As for hipcamp itself, it needs to get organized and actually let the hosts shut down if they need to cause it put me in a weird position of feeling like I was imposing. So 0 stars for hipcamp as an organization.

We had a fantastic time staying at Smithshyre - and feel really lucky to have met Roni and all the animals on the farm!! Really easy spot camping next to the old apple trees. Highly recommended!

The orchard that we got to camp in was beautiful. The owner of the property was a friendly and cool lady - not OVERLY friendly (i.e. not allowing of privacy or something), but just overall a pleasant, helpful human that looks like she cares about her property. Directions to the property were clear and error-free, I got to say hello to a lovely cat and two dogs that live there, and I had a great experience. Thank you!

First time using hip camp - would recommend! Cute little orchard with nice shade and flat spots to camp on. Great spot for two nights of tent camping homebase while we explored Port Gamble, Fort Worden, and the Olympic National Park. Our host was lovely - we met her outside by chance, and her sweet kitty and puppy would periodically wander over to visit (LOVED them). The goats were hilariously vocal, but not at all obtrusive (didn't wake us at night). Would return!

Nice secluded spot. Porta potty was clean and stocked. And I was greeted by a puppy and a cat in the morning!

This was such a cute place. I loved the goats and all the other animals (be sure to say hello to Echo!) It was just a short drive to the mountain bike trails and we loved the access.
