Enjoy the comforts of home in nature — including real toilets, showers, and kitchen.
This island escape home design is modern, completely custom, and architect-designed. A 2 open bedroom, 1 hand-tiled bathroom built on 2.5 acres of forest on Guemes Island. Designed to bring the outside in, the Industrial grade steel siding and roof, polished concrete floors, 12” insulated walls, deep-silled main windows creates a modern woods oasis. The beams and flooring were milled from the property. The second story features a pop-out glass reading nook, a private balcony, and an office space.
2.5 acres of woods to explore and camp in if you want to get even closer to nature. The home will have all the amenities you need for a comfortable stay in the woods. You are welcome to camp on any part of the property. There is a marked trail throughout the 2.5 acres. The property line on one side does connect with the island cemetery. Bikes and helmets are provided. Very dog friendly!
I loved staying at The Dragonfly was a relaxing weekend getaway. The house was stocked with everything you would need so you don’t have to pack up your life. They had bikes, books, games, DVDs, 2 tvs w/streaming. Highlights for us were Peach Preserve beach and small forest walk, hiking Guemes Mountain, and Dog Woods (we visited 2x 😍). And the crackling fire in wood stove was divine each night. I highly recommend The Dragonfly!
