Yellow picnic table
Great place with amazing views!! Made friends with the Pink Table our last night there. Shared a meal together. I wish we remembered exchange contract info..
Between the green and yellow table there is a couple rather patches of poison oak. Just beware.

Great site, got unlucky with weathe
Didn't get the full experience, just managed to book on a day and night where it rained every other hour. Not light rain but full rain. This had nothing to do with the camp site but thought I'd share why I don't have much to share.
We did get a nice sun rise and view was great! But had to check out early to dry everything including shoes.
Site was good, flat, and plenty of parking space. Road in and out is one way but there are a few spots to pull over and let folks by. Host was great and rented us a plug for power and fire wood. Also good coffee just on the other side of the 101.

Green table
This is a beautiful campsite and our group had a wonderful time!! One nice thing that isn't super clear in the photos is that our site (Green Table) finds a nice balance of beautiful views while also managing to feel quite private and well-shaded during all but the hottest parts of the day, with trees on maybe 2/3 of the perimeter of the site. We'll definitely be back!

Fantastic views, but outhouse woes
Overall, we really liked our time at Hairy Eagle Lookout! The views were stunning, the site was clean, great host communication, and the low number of plots felt very private.
What stops me from leaving a 'definite recommend ' is the outhouse. I am physically disabled and the compost toilet is a large barrel you literally have to climb up on to using logs stacked on a unstable wood pallet. I was not able to do it on my own, which meant then needing to ask for help on/off, which is not fun for anyone. Perhaps there is a way the host could dig down the barrel to be at normal sitting height? Another member of my group has similar issues clambering up due to their height. Most people probably don't have an issue with this - but for some (like me) it became a major point of anxiety and discomfort.
Definitely worth a trip - but if you are physically disabled, it may mean trips to town to use the restroom. Food for thought! đŚ
