Beautiful views and location

Overall, the site was generally quiet. I think it’s geared more for weekend campers. The site is in the middle of what I think is an alfalfa field. The day we got there, someone was brush hogging the field. Later, someone came and mowed the hookup sites. After that, they both came back and bug sprayed. The next day, thankfully we were gone most of the day because when we came back, the hay had been round-bailed. If we had decided to stay at the campsite the whole time, it would’ve been bad.
As it was, the fresh mowing meant there were a LOT of bugs. Wasps, bees, gnats, some odd looking ground critters, and non-venomous snakes. There is NO shade at this site. Not the owner’s fault of course, but it was hot this week. The sites were a good size, but very close together considering the size of the field. Very hard to level the trailer. The lack of light pollution made for some great stargazing and astrophotography. The location was close to all the things we wanted to do in Gifford Pinchot National Forest. The site is surrounded by beautiful hills and mountains.
We may have just had an off-stay. The dogs loved it, but we all brought in a lot of dead grass and my allergies were awful. Whoever was there before dumped fruit and vegetables on the ground, which attracted more bugs. We didn't use the provided fire pit since it was so hot.
I’d be willing to come back in the fall (if the roads are open/passable for trailers) and it was a little less than $85 a night.
