Best for self-contained campers. There are no toilets, showers, or potable water at this Hipcamp.
Please Note: There is a security camera notice up. Pease note it only covers entry to the front gate. After that, once through the front gate you have complete privacy. It is for insurance purposes.
The property is on the coral coast, Irwin Shire. It is 2km from 7 Mile Beach, 10 km north of Dongara and Port Denison, 55km south of Geraldton.
Camping is on the front entrance of the property only, it is fairly flat land with a high western bush rise protecting from westerlies. The site overlooks the surrounding valley landscape. The access road is fairly quiet.
The property is surrounded by restaurants, north and south, amazing beaches, like South Beach in Port Denison and up and down the coast. There is a wild life sanctuary in Greenough and a Tavern in near by Walkaway. There are also several dog boarding kennels.
In Geraldton north is a very popular international wind surfing community and surfing is well catered for as well.
Bookara is surrounded by organic farms and there is a local goat cheese factory, and many other enterprises.
Up past Walkaway is Denison's pool a local gorge and an indigenous heritage site.
It goes without saying that the fishing is good too.
There are sheep on the property, so care must be taken entering and leaving the property.
Property next door to the Greenough Village Historical township.
Important!! PLEASE MAKE EARLY CONTACT WITH OWNER TO OBTAIN THE GATE CODE. Please lock gate when leaving the property. This site is ONLY FOR ADULTS! You enter the property at your own risk. Pitch your tent or park your caravan in an open paddock, against a native bush wind break. The site is serene with minimal traffic, with views overlooking the valley.
Easy and quick access to Port Denison/Dongara and surrounding attractions.
We do not offer facilities here, so all campers must be 100% self-sufficient, with their own camp toilet. The nearest dump facilities are 8 kms down the road in Dongara.
Campfires are only permitted when fire bans are lifted and not in force, but you must bring your own firepit that is elevated off the ground and BYO firewood. And campfires are only permitted when conditions allow and there are no fire restrictions in place.
Showers can be had for $2 at the local BHP Service station. There is an IGA, the Dongara hotel, a great bakery and an op shop in town.
No children are permitted, because there is livestock on the property. Dogs also are not permitted for the same reason. There are several good inexpensive dog boarding shelters, though, in the surrounding area.

Inclusion policyWe have a zero-tolerance policy against discrimination at Hipcamp. We are committed to helping our Host and Hipcamper communities be inclusive.
We enjoyed our time on the Host's property. Host was very helpful with information of their plans for the property etc.
Host was also a delight in stating what we could do and where we could go during our time in the area.
We stayed on the property with our 4WD and Camper Trailer. We nestled ourselves over the hill for complete seclusion and privacy.
The only downside is the amount of Bindi on the property. You need to ensure you take a good ground cover and a cover to be placed under your tent if you are going to camp in this way.
Make sure you have shoes on ALL the time if you are going to roam around the property.
As I said a great little getaway at the last minute of booking.
