fantastic get away
we had a lovely weekend here. there is almost anything here you might need for a quiet weekend away. it is secluded enough to feel private and cozy, even in the winter with bare trees. a major plus is that you don’t have to worry about staying warm inside, even with very low outside temps. we hope to be back soon!

Excellent tiny cabin! We felt so good in that space. You can tell it was built with love, and it's extremely well built and solid. The little wood burning heater kept us super toasty, the bed was really comfy... Will come back

Winter Getaway
Despite the mud and rain, we had a lovely time staying in this tiny cabin and walking through the woods or Darryl's land. Darryl was communicative and informative and the cabin itself is adorable - the loft bed is comfortable, the woodstove was cozy (and toasty - keep in mind the heat rises for when you're going to sleep - we had to open the window), and things like the water pump and composting toilet were great. Though I recommend bringing some extra filtered water as the filter itself was very slow and priming the pump takes a bit of effort each time you want to use it. I would also keep in mind that this is a pet friendly place (which was great for us bringing our small dog), so naturally there will be animal hair around - in case you're allergic it may not be the best fit for you. Would love to come back again and also see the woods in the warmer months/check out some of the tent sites!

A Nice Secluded Weekend
Tent · With pets ·
We had a nice weekend. We camped a bit later in the year so we were the only campers which was nice. Only thing that we'll mention is the hill is not small....it is quite the trek to get your gear up there if you book one of the upper sites. We had originally booked site 6 but pivoted to one closer because of the distance. The on-site bathrooms could definitely use some love. Great time - very secluded.

Lots of potential, but dirty
We really tried to like this place, and in general the cabin and the surrounding land is very peaceful. Stove, fridge, fireplace, toilet all worked well, there’s a lot of helpful signage, and a nice little collection of games and books. My wife and I camp and stay in cabins like this fairly often, and we are pretty forgiving of a bit of dirt or dust - it’s part of the outdoors. There was evidence that some things had been cleaned, but ultimately there were too many things left dirty for us to be comfortable. The couch and the rug in the loft were especially bad, with dog hair the main culprit. Our clothes were covered in lint and hair very quickly. Saw two mouse traps, each with a caught mouse… and heard lots more sounds in the walls. Never saw or heard from the host leading up to or during our stay. With a bit of work, this place would be well worth the price. In its current form, I do not recommend.
