John is a Star Host
Star Hosts are highly rated, responsive, and committed to providing incredible experiences.
Forty five years ago, our family started assembling 400 acres of woods and fields on the banks of the beautiful Androscoggin River. We enjoy actively managing the property for wildlife habitat and tree growth. The diverse landscape includes over 1/2 a mile of river frontage, a 10 acre wildlife pond, rolling hills in the meadows and steep forested terrain with more than 10 miles of multi-use trails running throughout. Our lands have long been open to local hikers, bikers and cross country skiers, we are excited to share this beautiful property with a larger community. Scout for wildlife and birds, on our private 400 acres of forests and fields. Tire yourself by hiking, mountain biking, snowshoeing, or cross country skiing the 10 miles of private trails.  Located across the river from Riverlands State Park, just minutes from Lewiston-Auburn, Bates College, local breweries and just 2 1/2 hours from Boston. Wildlife abounds both on the property and across the river at Androscoggin Riverlands State Park. Quite often, a gentle breeze off the water will offer relief from black flies and mosquitoes, but the right bug repellent is recommended especially to fend off those pesky ticks that are so common in Maine.

Site 1 - Slippery Rock Riverbank Tent Sites
Unbeatable
John and Pat’s land is beautiful. They were so welcoming and are some of the kindest, most pleasant people I’ve come across in some time. The site is very private and beautifully situated along the Androscoggin River. It’s been a while since I’ve felt as at peace at a campsite as I did here. I will be back!

Canvas Tent @ Slippery Rock Trail
We ended up not going due to less than favorable weather, but Pat, John, and Karin were very responsive and accommodating to our (probably frustratingly) changing plans. We're keeping this spot in mind for the future.

Slippery Rock Tiny Cabin
We loved our stay at Slippery Rock Cabin. We were welcomed by John who taught us about the history of his land. We had everything we needed for a few peaceful days in nature.

Breathtakingly beautiful
Gorgeous, serene site. We thoroughly enjoyed paddling at sunset with the canoes provided. We will definitely be back. John and Pat were ideal hosts. We felt lucky to help preserve this wonderful part of Maine.

Fireflies were a surprise!
We went on a rainy day but it was still amazing! We did not expect the fireflies at night so that was a sweet surprise. The tent site is very private and quiet. Hosts were very welcoming and nice. Many different birds were heard and seen during our stay. Lake view was awesome. We were trying to canoe and fish but the weather messed it up a bit. Will definitely come back on a better day!

Great place to stay!
What an amazing property. Quiet and very nicely set up. The firefly’s at night were the coolest. Thank you for sharing your property!
