This Mom's Weekend of Solitude
Rick took us back to the cabin along a 2-track which immediately, you're just in aww of the place. The cabin sits nestled amongst the forest with trails to explore. The wood burning stove keeps you warm and cozy through the night, there's plenty of drinking water and water for the dogs even, and he supplies all the wood you need for the campfire and the stove. The string of lights on the front porch adds a nice, soft light for the evenings. It really is a diamond in the rough. Thanks, Rick and Jackson for a truly relaxing weekend.

New cabin
My youngest son and I have used Hipcamp for approximately 4 years, throughout several states. His was by far the best. It wasn’t too expensive either! His hospitality and property was top notch! It was secluded and quiet! He has approximately 80 acres to hike and explore! His dog was extremely friendly and welcoming. My youngest son and I have been camping for several years, we had a blast! Doing things 1 on 1 with each of my children is priceless! We will definitely go there again and encourage everyone to visit! If you’re ever in northern Michigan look him up!!

Gorgeous campfire set up with plenty of wood provided. UTV trails nearby, easy to access and navigate. Rick was warm and friendly, readily present to ensure the expectations of our stay were met. Excellent!

New cabin
Cozy, Rustic, Chill
Rick’s place was a peaceful, quiet escape. We had a wonderful time with our dog, who had tons of room to run around the site and with us on nearby trails. The cabin is well laid-out and thoughtfully stocked with gear (including a charging station, battery fan, propane torch for lighting fires). And the big covered porch has a beautiful view.

Peaceful and private cabin trip
10 out of 10. Ricks cabin was beyond awesome. We tent camp a lot, figured we’d give a cabin a try. We had no expectations, but if we did, this would have far exceeded any. Rick was a great host, greeted us upon arrival and showed us points of interest along the way to the cabin. His dog Jack is great. This spot is tucked away in full nature, is private, so very quiet, and fully stocked with any essentials you think you might need. We forgot our kettle to boil water for coffee, we looked on a shelf and there was a kettle/perculator. Anywhere you looked, there was something useful and handy. Heard coyote at night, could see the sunrise and sunset through the tree canopy. Temperature was predicted around 85, it stayed nice and cool by and in the cabin, was very comfortable. We cannot wait to go back in fall and will be booking shortly. This place is a gem. So happy we found it!
