Juniper Group Campground

If you're camping at Bandelier National Monument, this is the spot to go! Truly it is the only campground option unless you are in a group, in which case you should reserve one of the two spots at Ponderosa group campground. Juniper is well-maintained and overall exactly what we were looking for when we arrived late at night looking for a place to camp before exploring the monument the next day. There are three loops, each of which has a bathroom with running water. We camped in November at which point only two of the loops were available, and all of the spots were empty. Bears are often sighted in the area so be mindful of your food/trash! When you want to explore the monument, between May 17-Oct 17 it is by shuttle only from 9 AM- 3 PM.
