Description
This spot is the ideal getaway for all you free-spirited individuals. Maverick Campground is located on the east end of the Cimarron River, several miles from the park office. The river flows through a narrow, forested canyon on the Enchanted Circle Scenic Byway. Located at the center of Colin Neblett Wildlife Management Area, it's a place where you'll want to keep your eyes abreast for animal sightings, especially if you’re hiking the nearby Maverick Canyon Trail.

The campsites are very tightly packed in here. If you grab one close to the water expect lots of traffic during the day as this is a popular place for fishing. There are no showers or electric sites. The lakes are beautiful and stocked regularly so if you love to fish, you'll love being here.

Campsites are tight. Stayed at site 39, right off lake, but on top of neighbors. Aim for sites on the outer edges, they're bigger. People love to fish on that lake there, so another reason to go to edges for extra privacy. Clear creek is best hike in area.
