Visit the startling beauty of the plateaus above Lake Abiquiu in northern New Mexico. Star Dance provides a secluded experience for travelers, artists, fishermen, birdwatchers, stargazers, and more. Star Dance sits above the upper Rio Chama canyons on 30 acres of trails and undisturbed natural terrain. **ATTENTION POTENTIAL GUESTS** Recently we've had a rash of guests who, either through the difficulties with using the mobile app or just not reading our provided information, have been arriving passed our check in time. We require guests to arrive no later than an hour before sundown (summer 7:30pm - winter 5:00pm) We require this because we are very rural and our sites are not lit to keep our property natural and prevent light pollution for ourselves and our neighbors. In the past we've issued refunds for people who have neglected this rule. We will no longer be doing so in the future.

Site 3 - Star Dance High Desert Retreat

you will cry!!!!!!

This was simply beautiful!!!! Worth going just to explore and see the sunset. I cried!! There were little hiccups (the water takes too long to heat up, so a shower did not happen unfortunately) But well worth going regardless. There is only one car camping spot, but they were kind enough to let me switch when i arrived with no tent. I think spot 6 is the car camping. AMAZING. I will go again for sure but probably rent a house!!! they were so cute

Abundant peace and beauty!

We loved our stay at Star Dance. The views were incredible and it was so peaceful there. It was a huge bonus having access to a kitchen and showering under the sky was a treat! We would definitely return.

Stunning Stay

Beautiful views, clean sites, and plenty of ground to explore! The provided kitchen was extremely useful, and it was nice having the option to shower. One of the most stunning sites I've ever been to, and I suggest to anyone passing by the area stop to see it for themselves :)

Site 7 - Star Dance High Desert

The views were great and campsite felt very homey. It was in close proximity to the lake (a bit of a drive) and we enjoyed being away from others.

Amazing. Such a serene spot with access to kitchen and bathrooms. Showers with windows to look out onto the mountains. Couldn’t have been more pleased. Will definitely be back!

We car camped and had one tent at site 6. Great location and bathrooms were almost like being home. Directions to the location were perfect. 100% recommend!
