A rocky creek winds through the woods at the base of several hikable peaks hidden just minutes from the Blue Ridge Parkway. Wildlife enthusiasts are encouraged to explore, on foot or mountain-bike, anywhere within our 170 acres (or the adjoining 250 acres owned by the US Forestry Service off our Western border) and are likely to catch glimpses of turkey, beaver, deer, fox, eastern box turtle and the many species of songbird and raptor. The location is convenient to tons of local attractions for sightseeing and outdoor activities as well as shopping, dining, even wine tasting. We would be happy to supply a comprehensive list of the various local attractions upon request but the following are a few of our favorite things to do within a short drive: visit Linville Falls, Caverns, Gorge and/or Winery; drive the Blue Ridge parkway; tube/kayak down the Catawba river; hike beautiful Crabtree Falls; cross Grandfather Mountains mile high bridge and explore the nearby towns of Spruce Pines or Little Switzerland. The scenic drives to Asheville, Blowing Rock or Banner Elk make them each wonderful day-trip destinations.

Locust Ledge
This is a great camp ground. The owner Blair has expanded the campsites and continues to make this an amazing place to stay. I highly recommend!

First Solo Camping Experience!
Loved the site! Blair was so friendly and brought firewood right after I arrived. Huge plus that the property is gated. This was my first solo camping experience and it felt safe and comfortable. Thank you Blair!

Hilltop Safari Tent
Peaceful campsite!
Such a beautiful and secluded spot! The tent was great and very spacious inside. The mattress was comfortable and loved the coffee set up. Perfect place to get some peace and quiet and a good distance to the Blue Ridge Parkway.

Sycamore Bend
My first ever Hipcamp stay.
A lovely spot. I'll definitely be back. Some positives worth noting. Fresh mulch for easy walking on. A nice fire pit with a grill attachment. A picnic table in great shape. Tent pad is close to the creek for relaxing easy sleeping noises. An extremely clean and fresh porta potty nearby. Some not as positive things. You aren't far from the main road, the road doesn't have a whole lot of traffic, but you can hear the cars when they came by. Only once was there rednecks honking and hollar'n late night. The campsites are a hair closer than I'd like. Luckily there was no one in the spot next to us, but if there were I would put up tarps for privacy. The gate was a mild inconvenience coming in and out, but I guess that's worth it in the long run. It would also be nice to have a dumpster on site, but I don't mind packing stuff out.

Shady Creek View 2
Privacy for young family
Pretty cool spot. Really loved how secluded we were and this plot was at the very end of the little gravel road so we wouldn’t have any passerby’s which was wonderful for privacy! Able to pitch a massive 10 person tent. Family with young kids so super appreciated the privacy and no need to monitor our noise. The people right across the creek were pretty rowdy deep into the early hours of the AM which was an annoyance particularly since it wasn’t child appropriate noises that were going on, if you catch my drift…obviously that can happen anywhere and my kids were none the wiser and able to sleep through it. The creek was super special and we loved playing in it and felt very safe from any wildlife you wouldn’t particularly want to encounter. Its all there of course, it just kept their distance from us apparently! Blair was so helpful bringing us emergency wood last minute! Picnic bench was pretty helpful.
