We bought this 125+ year old farm in 2010 with the hope of bringing it back to life. Overgrown and neglected, we have worked hard to make it a nice place for hiking, kayaking, fishing or any number of other activities. Peaceful and remote, the property has a beautiful brook that leads you to the South branch of the Portage river. Deer, turkey, geese, herons, mink and fox are just a few of our natural animal friends. Rusty the steer and his pony friends Buckeye and Lexi can be visited while they graze in the pasture. There's also Turk the turkey and his flock of chickens. We have the perfect place for dogs as well. We have four dogs that get along great with others and our fenced pond keeps them safe.

Rusty's RV Retreat Site 2 creekside

Peaceful!

Rusty is cool (for a bovine). Site #1 was excellent! The hosts were attentive and rightfully pleased with what they have developed. I look forward to staying again someday.

Best Camping experience yet!

We had a wonderful time staying at Rusty‘s! Jay was great to work with and was very accommodating with us. His wife showed great hospitality to us and even let us borrow a canopy and some chairs when ours were left at home. The trail are really fun to walk and the campsite was secluded and quiet. We will definitely be back in the future.

Site 3 - Rusty's Retreat

We loved staying at Rusty’s Retreat. We will come back again! Jay was a great host. Our campsite was perfect and felt private. Jay offered to lend us his tent, as it was raining. If you want a rustic and private stay away from the sounds of the city, stay at Rusty’s.
