Grassy mowed area along the Sixes River on our cattle ranch and cranberry farm. We provide an outdoor shower and composting toilet shared by the 5 camp sites. The shower water is filtered water from a shallow well, but bring water to drink. This campsite lies about 1 mile from the pacific ocean at about 15 feet elevation so it will be cooler than inland camp sites. I believe we are the closest camping to the south side of the Blacklock Hiking Trails. Also next to the Cape Blanco State Airport. (call if you want to fly in and get transport to and from the campsite). Access Road is a single lane in and out (gravel, dirt, and grass). Any towed trailers need to be pulled by a 4-wheel drive or all-wheel drive vehicle to climb back out (in and out procedures for trailers will be provided) Bring a fishing pole or a kayak. Sea-run trout are in the river during the summer (no motorized vehicles allowed in the Sixes River by law. No motorized vehicles in campsite besides automobiles by rule.) - Please be accurate with the number of guests in your party. Please note about lack of signage: The "walters landing" and "92220" on airport road are the only markings to indicate our entrance. We don't want to put any "campground" signs to avoid curious trespassers into the property (we only want invited guests). Campsite Rules: 1. Enjoy. 2. No motorized vehicles besides your auto. 3. Make sure your fun doesn't detract from the fun had by other campers. 4. No illegal activity. 5. Clean up after your pet in the camp and river bank area or anywhere people will be walking or playing. 6. No unfriendly pets, even if they are on a leash. Must be safe with other children and pets and livestock.

Site Three
This is by far our favorite campsite on the Oregon coast! The river is great to explore, the sites are spacious and private, and the property is incredibly well maintained. Joe is extremely accommodating and keeps everything in top shape. The road coming in is a bit steep but we had no problems in our 1995 Roadtrek. We’ve stayed here a couple times now and we can’t wait to come back!!

Fennel Flats was an awesome place to camp. The meadow and river are beautiful. The camp spots are laid out with lots of space in between. Lots of flat tent spots. Everything was totally tidy and when we got there. The showers and composting toilet were clean and well maintained. Joe was responsive. We highly recommend! Check out the nearby hike to Blacklock Point. It’s a short and beautiful hike down to a secluded and spectacular beach. The trailhead is where Airport Road ends at the airport gate.

The directions were clear and the land was well maintained. It was nice to have a composting toilet and the bathroom was clean and stocked. There were two other campsites occupied, but the layout provided privacy. We spent a peaceful fire lit night by the water. Dog friendly. Would recommend!

Idyllic
This is truly a special place. The surrounding environment, including the river, beach and well mowed field, made for a perfect lazy day. Joe provided firewood at a reasonable price to burn in generous fire pits. The composting toilet was immaculately clean and tidy. And the outdoor hot shower overlooking the river was amazing. We needed a rest from travel and our little family felt like we landed in heaven. It was actually hard to leave! Thank you Joe and family for sharing this beautiful spot with others.

Wonderful place to camp!
AWESOME CAMPING!!!! This was my first time using Hipcamp--and not my last. All the public / state park campgrounds were full. It was already dark and starting to drizzle. I went on Hipcamp and found Joe's place. Instructions to get there were clear and easy, even in the dark. The sites were spacious and spread out. We loved the solar shower looking out at the river. I picked blackberries in the morning. Would stay here again and again! Thank you for sharing your land!

A perfect getaway!
Joes place was awesome! We stayed for three nights and it was the perfect spot - super peaceful and spacious. Our todddler and poodle especially enjoyed running around and digging for rocks by the river. The outhouse and outdoor shower were a huge plus! We’ll definitely be back.
