Discover Golden Memorial State Park's serene beauty and outdoor fun.
Located in Central Mississippi, three miles east of Walnut Grove, Golden Memorial State Park features a 15-acre spring-fed lake stocked with catfish, bass, and bream. Swimming isn’t permitted in the lake, but the Loblolly Trail here is a favorite activity among hikers with the second largest loblolly pine tree in the entire state. The park also memorializes an old Civil War era one-room school once located on the site. With two covered pavilions available by reservation, the park is an ideal setting for family reunions, company picnics, and school or church outings. Bring your best buddies, barbecue. and burlap for the sack races.
The ideal time to visit Golden Memorial State Park is during the spring and fall when the weather is mild and the natural beauty is at its peak. Summer months can be hot and humid, while winter brings cooler temperatures that might not be ideal for all outdoor activities.
