We had a quick stay but wish we’d had more time to look around! Site was very quiet and private. Easy to find and beautiful woods.

3 nights at Clear Creek Cook Forest Campsite

We had a wonderful, relaxing time here! It was so quiet and beautiful! I am one that gets to a campsite and says, “Lets go explore the area, see what’s around.” Not here! We were so content to just sit around the campfire and stay on the property itself. We both actually took naps in our tree hammock! Everything worked as it should and exactly as described. The dogs were able to be off leash all weekend and enjoyed themselves as well. We were able to use a dump station right across the road from the entrance for $15 so it was not an inconvenience at all. Thank you Josh for sharing this little slice of Heaven! We will be back!!

Beautiful place! Very private, there are other campers on the property but you only see them on trails or when coming or going. Well maintained campsite with picnic table and fire pit. The waterfall is more than satisfying!

Weekend Trip to Tiny Heaven

We had a fantastic time. It had everything that we could have needed, it was clean, comfortable, and it made for such an easy and relaxing weekend. We are hoping to possible make it an annual trip!

Weekend Trip to Clear Creek Cook Forest Campsite

Love the privacy and seclusion. Absolutely no internet service,, for us it was a joy! I highly recommend taking a screen shot of the gate code before you get close! I luckily remembered after a bit but it was a tad stressful with out being able to access my hipcamp account. Close to state forests and the clarion river and many other touristy attractions. Great camp stores right down the road. Road was rough but if you go slow it’s completely manageable (and we were prepared for it thru the description) for truck and 28’ trailer. Looking forward to closer dump station I did bring my 50 amp to 30 amp adapter but was not the same style. I’ve attached a photo for future amperes reference. My 50 amp was the twist and lock style this one is the 3 flat blade style. My 2 boys (dogs) loved their time and enjoyed watching the birds and deer just as much as we did.

Weekend Trip to Neal Homestead Camp Sites

Who ever Mimi is, she’s got a nice shed! It is exactly what you would expect a shed in the woods to be. It is unfinished in the inside but comes with basic camping goods like stoves, some pans, fire pit, and some water. We luckily did bring our own lantern since the indoor lighting is not super bright. Nothing fancy, but a step up from a tent for sure! We arrived late at night which made finding the shed a little more difficult. I think a few little outdoor lights could help quite a bit! By the way, if you hear screaming through the woods close by, it’s just the goats.

4 nights at Muddy Myst

Absolutely loved the pond site. Felt secluded enough to enjoy nature and the outdoors yet the comfort items and amenities were close enough and easily accessible. We had a wonderful time exploring the grounds and can't wait to return.

1 night at Slice of Solitude

This was our second time at a Slice of Solitude. We come for the solitude. Staying here is amazingly peaceful but there are also lots of outdoor activities for your enjoyment if you want with any necessary equipment easily accessible. We very much hope to return. An idyllic spot.

Liam is the most amazing host if you've ever met or talked to him it's like talking to someone you've been friends with for a long time the lake is awesome free kayak and peddle boat rentals the campsites are far enough away to not be bothered by others noise or vice versa but not too far if you're feeling like being social and they also offer a swimming pool and basketball hoop lastly the common area where you can hang out and get out of the sun or cold depending on the season and enjoy some coffee or cocoa next to the common area is a clean bathroom and shower I almost forgot onsite bundles of wood just a beautiful campsite over all A+ 5 stars 10 out of 10

The host was friendly and very prompt with messages. The views were stunning on the property. The waterfall is so lovely. Wear good shoes on the trail down. It is a little slippery. The site was well maintained and mowed. The gravel road to the sites up the hill go through the site but didn’t bother us. And the wood for sale shed was directly next to site. The compositing outhouse was a short walk. Our welled trained dog was able to play off leash and we all had a good time.

Very responsive and a secure area. I 💯 recommend especially if you're a solo traveler looking for a safe place to sleep!

10 nights at Fombell Landing

A very quiet location although alongside a road. An evening train or two can be a bit loud, but fairly brief. If you like small towns, Zelienople is 10 minutes away - fun, weekly events, shopping and great food options.

1 night at Slice of Solitude

Clean, quiet and level! The new bathhouse is very, very nice.. clean and hot showers. The host was very welcoming and checked in numerous times to be sure everything was great.

Weekend Trip to Clear Creek Cook Forest Campsite

We love staying at Josh's land. We really like the privacy at the campsite, but you are still located close to the state parks and forest lands. We camp with our dogs and having all that room for them to be loose at camp is a added bonus. Level sites with good water and electricity. Josh is very easy to deal with, never had a problem with the property or the host. I would recommend this site for anybody looking to get away from the campground crowds.

Clean, organized, well maintained. Very responsive staff. Great location. Nice tall trees provide good shade in most sites. If you are a remote worker, you'll love The Hub. It's a co-work space right on the property. Nice rustic interior design. The outreach attracts courteous guests. I was there 4th of July weekend. No excessive barking dogs or loud music. Just a nice vibe. I recommend this campground.

3 nights at Rustic Acres - Elevated RV Camping

We really enjoyed our first stay at Rustic Acres, especially the amenities for kids and families. Nice large playground, cornhole boards, and the hub (an air conditioned indoor space when we needed a break from the heat) were the things we used the most. We plan on visiting again soon.

We arrived later than anticipated but getting to site was no issue at all. Our site was perfect and was spaced out nicely from others. Really nice coffee shop at top of hill. Host and other guest were all friendly and welcoming. Would recommend.

Located just outside of Parker, PA and 25 minutes from I-80, our campsite is very accessible, yet still very remote. With 4 campsites on 75 acres, guests have ample privacy and space, with the freedom to roam this posted property that has no homes on it. Perched high above the Allegheny there are several spots to take in the wonderful views. There is also a waterfall with a 3’ deep pool below it. Great for splashing with kids or dogs, guests love exploring the creek bottom and making new discoveries. The more curious guests sometimes find the ruins of the original homestead, chimney and spring house that sit upstream. The property is teeming with wildlife. Birds and tree frogs will be the soundtrack of your visit, and often deer will be seen nosing along the outskirts of your site in the mornings and evenings. Turkey, bald eagles and even bear are occasionally spotted, so be prepared to secure your food and trash at night. For those coming to disconnect, you have found the right place. But if cell service is needed, you will have enough to get texts out and depending what site you booked, calls and internet as well. For those who seek an electrical outlet AND and EV charger, we have a site for you! We also have a site with a large canvas tent already set up for your convenience. Within a 15 minute drive of your campsite you can find The North Country Trail, Rails to Trails Trailheads and Boat Launches on the Allegheny River, Groceries, dining and beer. Note: Guests wanting The River Ridge site should book their weekends far in advance, or plan a trip during weekdays!

Neal Homestead Camp Sites

Camp is on 50 acres with a pink marked trail to Red Bank Creek on the western border and back up through a hemlock forest along south border. A small stream runs through the property and forms a rocky delta in Red Bank Creek. All camp sites are on the eastern border and close to the main road to access property. Hike, enjoy the sound of the stream tickling through property, stargaze, or rest, watch nature's critters, read or just relax in a hammock. No hunting on property but fishing permitted along "river" aka Red Bank Creek. Please keep fires in firepit and noise levels low. Set up to be most natural, minimal mowing, and sites meant to be more private. We let you know if you have others on property. No running water or flush toilets on sites unless in your self-contained camper. A compost loo provided. Lots of kindling can be easily gathered for a fire. Consider ordering some ahead of time if it has been raining though. There is a tarp and a wheelbarrow to collect logs and kindling and move to your site.

A bit Off Road. 3 has privacy with Antique Trailer but 4 is wide open. Fire ring at all of them/with wood. Horse stalls/guided trails available for the campers bringing their own horses. If advanced notice, an hour Lesson or Ride can be scheduled. Our animals are friendly and love attention. Dogs welcome but need a leash. Our Family run Farm is willing to accommodate your needs. Sunset Valley

We have 104 acres along the Allegheny river that we are willing to share with people who enjoy the outdoors. My husband and I, have been living here for twenty years and just enjoy the beauty this valley has to offer. We see bald eagles everyday, and every once in while some otters can be seen playing in the river. Black Fox Island is visible downstream and provides a pool in the river that is a mile long. A person can easily paddle upstream; when the river is at normal summer levels. Over 100 years ago, this was an industrial area with railroads, deep mines, strip mines, and gristmills. Some remnants of those times are still visible. Paddling, biking, walking, fishing and swimming are some of the activities to do here, but doing nothing and watching the river go by seems to be the most popular.

Acquired and protected by Allegheny Land Trust in 2008, Sycamore Island is a floodplain forest with a ranking of “high significance” within the Allegheny River Biological Diversity Area (BDA) Natural Heritage Area. Before the island was protected by ALT, the island had periodic interludes of recognition and appreciation by humans as a natural refuge. In 1936, both Sycamore Island and Nine Mile Island were leased from the Pennsylvania Railroad by the Audubon Society of Western Pennsylvania, making these islands the first bird sanctuaries in the Pittsburgh region. The Harbor Isle Boat Club was in existence on the island during the late 1960s but was later abandoned leaving behind several significant features; including a barge that remains embedded in the sand at the island’s southern tip, a partially installed swimming pool, docking platform, and a series of offshore pilings in the back channel.

In addition to camping by a beautiful body of water in an area that’s breathtaking anytime of year (but especially in autumn), Crooked Creek Lake offers the opportunity to journey back in time on the Auto Tour Trail. The trail provides a history of the area all the way back to the Revolutionary War and includes information about one-room schoolhouses (talk about old-school!) and the first water-powered sawmill. You'll also have a chance to visit the environmental learning center. If you’re not too distracted by enjoying the environment first-hand, that is. With picnic areas, fishing, trails and even a beach area, Crooked Creek has everything you need for a wickedly cool weekend getaway.
