Chestnut Hill Vineyard

8 sites · RVs, Tents25 acres · Hopkinton, RI
We are beginning farmers on 25 acres, we have lots of livestock here and a unique collection of plants starting out in our nursery. The property is in closed in rock walls and includes a cemetery that dates back to the 1800s. Please wear shoes our property has been a homestead/farm for a couple hundred years and does have broken glass as a result. On the property is a large rock grouping that is about the size of a modern full sized truck. We have a watering hole on the property that is spring fed and usually clear… unless the ducks get in. You can totally filter the water for drinking, we drink it. Our farm is more of a primitive campground, parking is not at your campsite. The walk is 3-5 minutes from the parking area. We have a composting toilet on site and plenty of deadwood to collect for burning. Please do not bring firewood We do message every camper after they book giving instructions on how to get here to save our neighbors from unwanted guests, please check for our message. Hope to see y’all here! Happy camping

Swanson's Farm

1 site · RV, Tent33 acres · West Greenwich, RI
We have a pretty magical farm in rural West Greenwich. We are only about 10 mins from I-95 but we are nestled in the woods. Fall asleep to the sound of crickets and cicadas and wake up to birds chirping and our rooster crowing . It is certainly a peaceful, quiet, private area. Our site has a waste-bag toilet (must take waste with you), an extension cord and a sink. The site is located in a quiet field where you will often find deer grazing in the morning and afternoon. We are a young farming family. Our dream is to build a cidery on this property in future years. We have started to plant our orchard with cider apple varieties, about 650 dwarf apple trees, and we are also growing some flowers and squash at the moment. We currently have six pigs and nine chickens on the farm. Eggs and cuts of pork are available for purchase, just ask! Feel free to walk around the farm, just be respectful, don't leave anything behind, and be aware that some areas have poison ivy (the field where you are staying does not have any).

The Sandbox Campground

3 sites · Lodging, RVs, Tents12 acres · Groton, CT
The Sandbox campground was born from The Sandbox Indoor Beach Sports and Events facility, which mainly focuses on providing year round beach volleyball. We bought the property in 2015 and opened the facility in 2019. As it happens, it's a 12+ acre lot surrounded by wetlands, hiking and biking trails ... there will never be another building built within view of our facility. We are surrounded by nature, and will be forever. So what a great opportunity to offer camping and access to all of the forests, woodlands, wetlands and trails around! And if you're up for it, come play some beach volleyball and meet new lifelong friends :)

The best camping near Fishermen's Memorial State Park guide

Overview

About

This Li’l Rhody spot has access to all manner of seaside enjoyment—beaches are bikable, Block Island is just a ferry ride away. You can practically taste the seafood from Fisherman’s Memorial State Park. Cuff your pants at low tide and wade out into the adjacent salt pond muck for the freshest clams this side of the Mississippi or stop at Iggy’s on your way to watch the sun set at the Point Judith Lighthouse (a beacon of red and white striped postcard perfection). It’s a popular spot in the warm summer months—maybe because of the Sunday farmer’s market on-site? We think YES.

When to go

The ideal time to visit Fishermen's Memorial State Park is during the spring and fall, when the weather is mild and the natural beauty is at its peak. Summer months can be busy and hot, while winter brings a quiet charm, albeit with cooler temperatures.

Know before you go

  • Check the park's official website for any alerts on closures or safety advisories before your visit.
  • Ensure you have a valid fishing license if you plan to fish amid the park's waters.
  • Accessibility options are available; contact the park office for specific details.
  • Facilities include restrooms, picnic areas, and trails for various skill levels.
  • Remember to pack out your trash and respect the park's wildlife and natural resources.
