Learn more about this land: Purple Pines is located outside Philipsburg, 20 minutes from Rt-80, 30 minutes from State College and Penn State University, and an hour from the Pennsylvania Wilds. Our land is located less than 10 minutes from downtown Philipsburg. This historic town is bouncing back after losing its local industries decades ago. A 20 minute drive takes you to Black Moshannon State Park which offers hiking trails, a boardwalk through the wetlands, a beach with swimming, launches for canoes and kayaking, and fishing. The camp site is among pine trees and overlooks a creek valley. UPDATE: This property is under contract to be sold. We will happily accept reservations until June 17th. Thank you for staying with us, we loved hosting you all!!For trailer and large vehicle campers: Access is somewhat narrow and we offer no turn arounds. You will need to back into the site. To exit the property you will need to back up a short hill, about 100ft long. We recommend experienced operators, a spotter, and 4 wheel drive for vehicles pushing larger trailer campers. Photo 8 shows the uphill exit. Please feel free to contact me with questions!

Sunset Spot
A perfect campsite
The sunset spot is the perfect little campsite. A beautiful area of the state and tucked away- just the slightest bit of traffic noise but it did not bother us or our dogs in the slightest. We had to cut our trip short when one of our dogs started having a medical emergency and were so bummed we couldn’t stay longer. It was a peaceful and private spot. Very shady and a nice soft, dry covering of pine needles perfect for tent camping. Anne was very responsive and friendly and the wood provided burned well. The outhouse was very well kept. We would definitely return if it was an option!!!

Would rate 100 stars if I could!
Had the most dreamy camping experience with friends. Spot was spacious and oh so peaceful. Our one night camping extravaganza at Purple Pines exceeded our expectations. Thoroughly enjoyed listening to the quaint, babbling creek in the valley below and the picturesque sunset viewing. Outhouse was a lovely set up just a brisk walk from the site. A perfect spot to unwind, even if it’s just for a night. Looking forward to including this site in future plans.

Sunset Spot
This was a fantastic little spot in the pines! Our trip coincided with some inclement weather and luckily for us, the campsite has an elevated space that kept us up and away from any puddles. The hosts were very sweet, accommodating, unobtrusive, and responsive. When you come, be sure to check out the beautiful parks and drives in the area - we got to see the elk roaming and enjoy the beautiful fall colors, as well as a few juvenile bald eagles :)

Purple Pines is stunning & perfect!
What a perfect spot this site was. Beautiful pine trees surround the most quaint camping site, mourning doves all around with their beautiful song but not annoyingly so. Such a wonderful spot in nature, I would love to stay again if I return to the area! Anne met us upon arrival with a very kind welcoming. We had total privacy with the comforts of knowing owners were available nearby if needed. The outhouse was perfect, not creepy like some, and very clean! We were very impressed with our stay. If you stay here, make sure to check out the old town nearby, it is stunning!!! I highly recommend this spot. Very peaceful, beautiful and quaint, just like we love in a camping spot. One of my new favs on Hipcamp!
