Big Powderhorn Mountain Resort
Ski resort
Big Powderhorn Mountain Resort is nestled in Michigan's Upper Peninsula, known for its reliable snowfall and long skiing season, often running from December through March. The resort boasts a family-friendly atmosphere with a variety of terrain suitable for all skill levels, including beginners. With over 250 inches of annual snowfall, the conditions are typically powdery, providing an excellent skiing experience. The terrain includes 33 trails with a mix of difficulty levels, and while there are no dedicated terrain parks, the variety of runs offers natural features for those looking to practice tricks. There are no backcountry areas or night skiing options at Big Powderhorn, but the resort does have a lift system with nine double chairlifts and a beginner handle tow. The views from the slopes are picturesque, featuring the snow-covered trees and landscapes of the Upper Peninsula. For those interested in activities beyond skiing, Big Powderhorn offers amenities such as an on-site lodge, dining options, and nearby snowmobiling trails. However, there are no ice skating, snowshoeing, snow tubing, or sledding facilities at the resort.
