White Grass Ski Touring Center, commonly known as White Grass, is a cross-country skiing haven located in the beautiful Canaan Valley of West Virginia. The resort is known for its reliable snowfall, typically receiving around 160 inches annually, which allows for a skiing season that usually runs from December through March. White Grass offers a variety of terrain that caters to all skill levels, including beginners. While it doesn't have a traditional lift system or terrain parks like downhill ski resorts, it boasts over 50 kilometers of cross-country trails that meander through scenic landscapes. The trails offer a mix of open meadows and forested areas, providing stunning views of the surrounding Appalachian Mountains. White Grass is very family-friendly and encourages a love for the outdoors with a laid-back atmosphere. In addition to cross-country skiing, visitors can enjoy snowshoeing on the extensive trail network. The resort does not offer night skiing, ice skating, snow tubing, snowmobiling, or sledding, but its focus on cross-country skiing and snowshoeing ensures a high-quality experience in those activities.
