Downhome Country Farm is 10 acres of woods and prairie with a large garden, chickens, guinea fowl, mules, horses, a dog, and bee hives in the pasture. We have two restored vintage campers that sleep 4 people and multiple tent sites. The bathroom and solar shower are shared by all guests. There are 2 sites for self-contained RV's with 20A electric available and water at some sites. 2 tent sites are available until the hay season then the pasture is wide open tent camping. Horse boarding and camping available too. Each site can request individual fire rings. We have an outdoor community area that has a large fire pit, covered shelter and a woodfired pizza oven that will be in use on some weekends and by request. Local musicians are known to provide pop up private concerts some weekends and impromptu jam sessions. On occasion, we have outdoor movies and morning yoga along with great activities in the surrounding community too. Or just hang out in the hammocks and soak in that downhome country feeling. Come and enjoy the great outdoors on our farm!

The Trail tent site #1
Absolutely loved staying with Carole and Steve! They were so kind and welcoming. The site was secluded in some trees. They had a fire ready for us when we got there and lent is some quilts on a cold night. Beautiful land! Would absolutely stay here again.

The Hive
This was the perfect place to stay for our little weekend getaway! Carole and Steve were outside ready to greet us when we got there. They were very friendly and welcoming from the start. They showed us around the property and how to work everything to make sure we were settled. There was a cute little basket of goodies and a welcome note upon entering our camper. The property is very well lit so it is easy to get around even in the middle of the night. If we are ever in the area in the future, we will definitely stay here again!

The Trail tent site #2
This is an extraordinary place.. My 8 year old son and I have been on the road for nearly 7 weeks and this is by far the best place we stayed. The minute we stepped out of the car we felt at ease. Carole and her husband welcomed us so warmly ,making sure that we would be the most comfortable during our stay.. The place is truly beautiful.Huge trees offer a lot of shade.Beautiful garden. Campsites are shaded too ,very spacious. The restroom and outdoor shower are very clean. My son particularly enjoyed feeding the animals, collecting the eggs, painting " a masterpiece" with Carole and making the fire ( that our hosts had pre prepared for us ....So thoughtful!) . In the morning we even had a concert from the musicians who were staying in the campground!!!! This was truly amazing. I am glad that I booked this campground and SO grateful to Carole and Steve for having welcomed us so " open heartily". They made us feel "at home away from home." I truly hope to stay here again for a longer time.

Relaxing Oasis
This farm is so cute and Carole is a gracious host. They gave us a quick tour of the farm, helped us get the fire started and sent us off with fresh picked herbs from the garden.

The Diner
Amazing stay!
My family and I spent 2 days at this camp. It had a very tranquil atmosphere and we were treated as family. We were also given many welcoming gifts! The couple has many fun farm animals that we were allowed full interaction with. We fed their two mules treats and brushed their coats. They also had many activities available such as a fire pit, hammocks, kids playhouse, painting, and more. An outdoor toilet and shower was provided and was very well maintained. The couple also allowed us to pick ripe mulberries off their tree, which were delicious! Overall, our experience was like none other, and I urge families who want a calm and fun environment to stay here for a getaway! Thanks, Your First Guests😊
