This Outpost and campground is located on 300 acres of private property surrounded by park and public land. It has been here for over 30 years in some form or another. We are Caleb & Amber who enjoyed managing this little oasis in the middle of the desert from March to June of 2017 when we decided to purchase the business & make it our own. This is a dry, rugged campground with a bathhouse that provides coin operated showers and flush toilets. In addition there is little old rustic camp store placed in the middle of nowhere where we provide fuel, snacks, firewood, ice, showers, cold drinks & more. If you are looking for a more private site with lots of space and shade, book our Small Group at the Rocks. For a warmer stay during the cooler months book one of our Glamping Tents listed. We have the larger, and spacious tent in the grove of the Juniper Trees (which is also amazing in the warmer season) and rent a heater from us inside the general/camp store. BE SURE TO GIVE YOURSELF PLENTY OF TIME TO CHECK IN NO LATER THAN 5PM. THANK YOU!! DON'T FORGET TO TAKE A SCREEN SHOT OF THE DIRECTIONS HERE, YOU WILL LOSE SERVICE ON YOUR WAY.

Terrible Experience
Very poor communication from host despite very strict 5pm check in time. We ran out of gas in the middle of nowhere trying to find her and I could not reach the host to find out if we could still spend the night I had already paid for. Her phone number is non working. So we had to find and pay for another place at the last minute. And it was my birthday. Terrible experience.

Amazing hosts & camp sites
Amber & Caleb are amazing hosts! The outpost has everything you need in the store & the sites are wonderful. We loved having a paid shower & cold snacks as an option. Our first night was rough due to a mattress pad hole and Caleb was able to provide a patch kit for us that worked! This saved us from having to spend the whole day hunting for a patch kit or replacement. Instead, we were able to enjoy some hiking trails that Amber recommended which we didn’t know about previously and really enjoyed. It couldn’t have been a better stay!

Tipi at the Rocks
Great location, mediocre facilities
The campground is in a gorgeous location, and very convenient for exploring Canyonlands NP. A bonus that it’s run but very friendly and communicative hosts. That being said the facilities are quite rundown, especially compared to the much cheaper government run campgrounds nearby. I would not recommend staying in a Tipi as they are open to the elements and the “cots” are basically old lawn hammocks - very uncomfortable! I’d take my tent over staying in one of those without a doubt.

Loved the scenery!
I loved this site! My friend and I did tent camping, and I enjoyed the connection to nature and how I finally felt free to disconnect from life. It was very hot one of the evenings which was a little rough, but that’s to be expected in the desert! Would definitely stay here again during the fall or spring(:

Long drive from Moab,
Would be nice to have a later check in than 5. Its an hour (or more) outside of Moab. We saw people coming in at 7:30 and the sun is now where near setting so there is plenty of daylight. Its just a hassle have to rush to be there and then drive an hour back into town for dinner when we saw others coming later and picking campsites well after 7. Friendly and clean and lovely views make up for the inconvenience though.
