Site 2 - Tent Camping in the majestic trees
Will likely make an annual visit
Love this place, wonderful for family camping, the property care taker was very kind to us, everything was clean. Definitely recommend river shoes, love the farm animals and the little bit of wildlife especially in the water. The water was crystal clear. The out house was very well maintained and super cute actually. That road or driveway up to the site is very intense and a little narrow but that won’t stop us from coming back.

Site 2 - Tent Camping in the majestic trees
The site was nice and well maintained. There was a fire pit and a small table. I use a hammock and the site worked well for hammock camping (site 1 also looked like it will work for a hammock). It is a steep hill going up to the site. It would be a bit of a walk if you had to carry a lot of gear and food up. I was able to get up the hill on my motorcycle (I have an adventure bike, I wouldn't try it on a cruiser), but coming down the hill the next morning after a steady rain was a bit hairy. My preference for camping is to be completely away from civilization, but this location provides a good backup option compared to some parks where there are a lot of sites in close proximity.

Site 1 - Tent Camping in the majestic trees
a great camping/farm experience!
What a great little hidden gem in Virginia. Site 1 and 2 absolutely require a 4wd vehicle to park at the sites as is mentioned. Otherwise get ready for a short but intense leg workout to hike up from the road below. You don’t want to miss out checking out the Cowpasture River or the many sweet animals living at the farm. Caroline and husband were amazing hosts and incredibly gracious. My 17 yr old son and I had a great time and highly recommend!

Site 2 - Tent Camping in the majestic trees
We enjoyed our stay here, the river was lovely and peaceful and campsite was nicely shaded in the trees. One thing to note is that when it says firewood is provided, that means you need to chop it yourself from any wood/branches you find laying on the ground. Douthat state park is located nearby and is pretty to visit!

The Gypsy Rose
This place is absolutely amazing. the property is stunning. our directions did route us to the neighbors driveway so make sure you're pulling into the driveway that says Lazy farm. the gypsy rose was surprisingly super comfortable. slept like a baby. they provided wood for the fire which was very kind. outhouse was clean and spacious. would recommend this place to anyone.
