Site 1 - Camping at Riverdale Farms
It’s very beautiful property and well maintained. The river is perfect for relaxing in and beating the heat. Definitely worth the trip.

Site 1 - Camping at Riverdale Farms
Good for dogs
This is a huge property just outside Richmond VA that offers two primitive campsites tucked at the edge of the property, along a quaint river. We booked site 1 since it came with river access, but keep in mind the steps are still under construction. The wasps were super active at this site, so we setup camp at site 2 right next (which was vacant). Communication was nonexistent via the app, but you will receive an email confirmation with the host rules.

Site 1 - Camping at Riverdale Farms
Our new favorite apot
Myself, my 4 year old daughter and three dogs had the best time here. We picked Site 1, we also got lucky and no one was at Site 2 so we had the whole place to ourselves which just added to the peace. We previously had horrible experiences with larger campgrounds (so many people, loud, rude, you name it) and ever since then, I've been on the hunt to find a private spot by the water to swim and also be able to run my quiet inverter generator for the travel trailer as well... This location checked every box that I had and will 100% be coming back again and again.
Site 1 is more wide open but directly by the steps down to the river. Site 2 is more surrounded by trees and while you are on the edge of the water still have a short little 20ft+- walk to the steps so not bad at all. Plenty of space to spread out on the water with a nearby sandbar.
These sites are great for fishing! My daughter and I caught several good sized bass, fallmouth and bluegill. Saw some turkeys on the way in as well.
Dann and his wife came to visit and check in on us, perfectly on time as we were unhooking one of our bass!
Saw previous review mentioning shooting "50ft away" ... that is a complete exaggeration. Using a map, the actual distance from the range to the sites (going a straight shot through the woods) is ~2,000ft/~670yds/~0.38mi. The sound was faint as well as the sound of Kings Dominion nearby, both hardly noticable.

Site 1 - Camping at Riverdale Farms
Secluded riverside site
Great property to camp on and very nice meeting Dan, a very welcoming host. The site itself sits above the river and offers a nice flat space with well spaced teees and steps right down to the river, a sandy bottomed slow flowing oasis. There is plenty of space to not feel the need to leave camp but shopping and eating are just a short drive away. We will definitely return to this camp and wouls recommend to anyone looking to just get away for bit

Site 2 - Camping at Riverdale Farms
Relaxing camping
My husband and I loved camping on Dan’s land! It’s a beautiful place with lots of room for multiple tents. The river was calming and we had a very peaceful weekend. We look forward to camping there again soon!

Site 1 - Camping at Riverdale Farms
My family and I had a great time @ doswell farms! The host was very friendly and greeted us. The campsite was very well kept and the river views were beautiful! Site 1 & 2 are a little close for what we like, we could see the other campers, but it worked out fine. If you don’t mind noises coming from the firing range, railroad, and amusement park, this is a great spot to check out!
