When the opportunity presented itself in late 2018, Dan and Maggie teamed up with Chuck and Susie Velie to purchase 130 acres along the Hoh River. They all had a common goal of providing an intimate outdoor experience for those looking to disconnect themselves from the everyday life and reconnect with nature by offering an incredible outdoor experience. Chuck Velie, (son of Gary and Beth Velie) is the great-great grandson of John Huelsdonk, more commonly known as the Iron Man of the Hoh. This property has been in the family for many many generations. It is our goal to preserve the heritage of this property while drawing tourism and helping local businesses attract customers. We believe that this is an investment in our community that rewards us today and leaves an invaluable resource for future generations. Maple Creek Outfitter is dedicated to creating the best outdoor experience for their guests including comfortable rustic accommodations and an environment that is rich in beauty and bounty.

Site 8 - Hoh River Campsites
Amazing stay at Hoh River
We had a lovely stay at the Hoh River campsites. Maggie was so friendly and came out as we arrived to see if we had any questions and offer information about the area. We stayed in site #8 which was a very large gravel site far away from other sites and with a very clean, permanent outhouse (not a porta John). The site had a large fire pit and wooden table. The grounds were extraordinarily well kept and lovely. We walked around the campground area a few times, it was so peaceful and lush. My kids loved looking for banana slugs and salmonberries. There were blackberry bushes too but not yet fruiting. The directions to get there were spot on. We did drive to the river one day which was beautiful but it had rained the previous week and we had to drive through some deep water to get there. We had cell signal at the campground, T-Mobile. The location is ideal for visiting several Olympic National Park sites, including the Hoh rainforest, Kalaloch and Ruby Beach which were all lovely.

Site 4 - Hoh River Campsites
Pristine and wild ❤️🍄
The ideal camping spot. Lush, wild and still developed enough for comfort. Maggie and Dan are super friendly hosts. ✅ Clean porta potties ✅ Gorgeous river location ✅ Minutes to Duncan Memorial Cedar, Ruby Beach, and Kalaloch Beach. For RV folks: there are nearby dump sites at Bogachiel and Kalaloch parks. Easy!

Site 8 - Hoh River Campsites
We make it a point to come here multiple times every year. This was our first time staying at Site 8 and it was so peaceful. Large flat graveled area with a fire pit and picnic bench off to the side. We didn't hear or see any other campers while at this site. All the sites are immaculate and the entire property is wonderful to explore.

Perfect camp site
A beautiful spot, easy river access, and a cute little hike! Not to mention you have a big plot all to yourself, its also a short drive from the beach accesses and the main park!

Site 4 - Hoh River Campsites
We loved camping here with our three dogs! We had the place completely to ourselves for two nights. We stayed in site four, which had a great open grassy lawn. We also liked site five across the road which had a long driveway and a more private fire/picnic area off to the side. The porta potties were very clean, and the whole property is very well maintained with mowed lawns and small landscaped gardens. The walk to the river is short and there is a long stretch of riverbank to sit and let the dogs run. We had good service with Verizon. The hosts were very friendly, communicated clearly and met us briefly upon check in. Otherwise we were left to our enjoyment.
