MCF is situated 12 minutes NE of Shelton Washington with secluded wetlands nested against the SW shores of Spencer Lake. Covering over 124 acres MCF offers terrain from grassy fields to heavily wooded forests and an abundance of sanctuary wetlands. Being surrounded mostly by private timberlands expands the remote feeling this location has to offer. More than 3 miles of maintained trails deliver single track/ pedestrian/equine pathways to wider trails joined by a main trunk trail large enough for vehicles. Malaney Creek meanders through a cool grassy tree lined meadow where a 40 year old wooden bridge serving the main driveway can be viewed. Established in 1977 as a resident farm, MCF was once rich with an old growth ceder forest feeding a cedar mill and railroad built by early settlers of Mason County. Remnants of the old growth giants still remain.

Cascara
Enjoyed my stay at cascara! I had the quiet meadow to myself for this late season stay. On arrival i ended up missing the stop for the hosts, who noticed, caught up to me and got me to the right spot :) can’t say enough good about the help getting settled. In the area i was in there are no marked spaces (it’s rustic) but the host was right there to explain my options and to spot me getting in. Would stay again…

Hemlock
My family loved tent camping here! We stayed in the Hemlock site and it was perfect! The host was welcoming and the little camp store was stocked with anything you might need. We had 2 vehicles and 3 tents in our group and had plenty of room to spread out. Very quiet.

Creekside
Stumbled upon this listing while looking for a place to stay close to family that lives on Harstine Island. It’s a beautiful little spot, just outside of town. It’s quiet and peaceful. Tracy was great with communicating necessary information leading up to our stay and was so helpful upon our arrival. The little store on the property is great, especially when you forget your firewood when leaving town! We loved that they provide propane fire pits when there is a burn ban and even have tanks available to rent! We will definitely be staying here again in the future and will be recommending it to friends and family!

Hemlock
Excellent!
I highly recommend Malaney Creek Farm. Tracy was friendly and helpful, and she also offered us an alternative spot as it was open. Both Hemlock and the alternative were private and spacious, but we chose the alternative (can't recall the name) as it was a little more to our liking. The site was clean, with a nearby shared space that had a Honey Bucket, sink, and trash cans. At night, it was very quiet, but you can faintly hear the occasional driver with loud exhaust somewhere. Overall, it was a great experience and we would absolutely book this place again.

Cascara
Casacara never disappoints. Enjoy a camp fire with the resident bared owl. Tons of space to roam.

Overflow Campsite at the farm
This is an incredible spot and Tracy was a fantastic host. It was easy to book, communication was great, and the land is absolutely gorgeous. Sites are nicely spaced and there are lots of trees and trails and things to do. It’s clear the hosts love their land, take great care of it, and want guests to relax and enjoy this beautiful place. Thanks for sharing it with us!
