Hills, trees, trails, steep grades, seclusion. There are many steep slopes to this primitive campground. The trails can prove to be quite a challenge to some. There are a variety of trees to see and plant life. We have deer, turkeys, squirrels, rabbits, foxes, coyotes .... Many species of birds also. Whippoorwills usually begin singing late March. Screech owls, Barred owls, Great horned owl.Long Hollow Primitive Campground requires campers to hike in to their prospective camp site. It is very dark back in the hills especially during early phases of the moon. Make sure to have a good flashlight ! There are many nature trails for those who like to hike and get close to nature. Be advised as already mentioned, the trails are very steep in some areas so make sure to have a good hiking boot with good traction.
