Looking for a personal retreat or get away ? Escape to our beautiful, RUSTIC 32 acre wild homestead / farm. What do we mean by "rustic" ? Simply put... this is camping...not glamping. The camping experience we offer is about unplugging from the modern world , getting back to basics, and re-connecting with the land. Our campsites do not have electricity and there is no wifi on the land. Campsites are nestled in the woods. So although your vehicle will be parked within 50 ft or so from site, you cannot pull directly up to the site because of the trees. We love dogs, but for many reasons , we ask that you leave them at home. It is about a 5 minute walk from sites. Shower hours are 8 am- to 8 pm. Feel free to wander through the herb gardens, eat your meals in the garden pavilion (we have picnic tables there and hammocks), get your Zen on in the meditation hut , and stroll through the woodland medicine path where we grow endangered and at at risk plant plants. (Please note that the woodland medicine path goes to seed by the Fall and is usually munched down by the deer by then, but is still a nice short stroll in the woods). The shower has hot and cold running water and is roughly a 5 minute walk from sites. *Please know that this is a working herb farm/ sanctuary and we are often working in the gardens or on the land doing physical labor, and so do not keep our cell phones on us at every moment. . We will make every effort to respond to you within a few hours.

Tiny Treehouse on the Farm

We loved staying in The Treehouse on Hillary’s land. She came out to greet us and she was very engaging. (After we packed up and left we got a bite to eat in Shepherdstown at MJ’s and an older lady struck up a conversation with us because apparently it was obvious we were travelers and she happens to know Hillary quite well so, anyway, was a fun moment) As for the property, Hillary has the place set up for pleasant, relaxing and spiritual exploration. If your soul is seeking peace, you will surely find it here. As for The Treehouse, it’s everything I expected it to be. Simple, quaint and humble are good things in my mind and that also describes The Treehouse. I wouldn’t want an extravagant treehouse experience, personally, but to each their own. We enjoyed a simple campfire in the evening and munched on S’mores. Not that this information is relevant but this vacation to The Treehouse was just the beginning of a father/son roadtrip we are enjoying as this is the summer between high school and college for my son. I’m glad we kicked it off right with Hillary’s place. Thank you, Hillary!!

Tiny Treehouse on the Farm

Adorable treehouse! Spacious enough to comfortably sleep two! The entire property is GORGEOUS. And the shower is really nice! Cell service (T Mobile) was no issue. This was my first time camping since I was a kid and would happily come back.

Lovely Spot In The Woods

There was zero communication from the host. Which is fine if that's what you're looking for. I have disabilities and it would have been nice to hear back one of the few times I contacted beforehand just to get information on distance to the shower (which is the main reason I booked this site). The toilet is a port-a-potty and the shower has specific hours, which limits use. Based on my previous camp stays, this one was overpriced for the same amenities. The space all seemed safe and nice though.

Tiny Treehouse on the Farm

The land was absolutely beautiful! The treehouse was surrounded by honeysuckle which made it smell fantastic. We got engaged here this weekend. We will absolutely be back!
