When the summer temps are sky high, stay cool and shady at Canyon Village Campground!
Beneath the lodgepole pines this campsite offers all the amenities (water, restrooms, fire pits, oh my!), and a chance to be super close to the most rockin’ adventures in the park. Hike the rim of the Grand Canyon of Yellowstone, the Cascade trail, or just hop on over to the lodge for a tasty meal and to send a postcard back to the folks. So go ahead and sweat it up on the trail because when you get back, your site gets you two showers a night...nice and cleaned up just in time for campfire songs or an evening ranger program. Canyon Village is prime camping real estate you aren’t gonna wanna pass up!
You could hear the wolves howling at night.Great ranger program in the evening. Close to the canyon hikes and the village area for amenities, if you need them.

Request a campsite next to a bear box. Not every site has one. Remember you will be packing up anything with a smell (food/grills/toiletries/tablecloths) after each meal. Being next to a bear box helps!

My brother, girlfriend and I stayed here for just one night and loved it, we got a beautiful spot with a reservation and had a peaceful time here with warm showers!
We were on a month long roadtrip so it was nice to get some showers, we loved that it was close to where we wanted to go drive around for sunrise to see all kinds of wildlife. Would definitely recommend, although it is a bit pricier than some of the other campgrounds.

Whoops, meant to add that since there isn't a lot of shelf space in the toilet building, I suggest toiletry bags with handles and preferably clear so you can see what's inside without too much effort.

We camped at Grant and Canyon and enjoyed Canyon more (probably because we had quiet neighbors). While it is a huge campground, people were generally polite and the shower/laundry facilities were fine. The staff was really nice and great with the kids (we camped out for quite a while doing laundry). The sites were clean and the bathroom was kept very clean throughout the day. There is a grocery store, of sorts, nearby and the evening Ranger talk was easy to walk too. The Ranger did go on for quite some time, so we have to leave early with the little ones, but it is a nice feature. We tend to go backcountry but appreciated Canyon for the showers and laundry.
