The Yurtfarm

7 sites · Lodging, RVs, Tents1000 acres · Mummel, NSW
Situated between Goulburn and the rural village Crookwell is the Yurtfarm. Mike Shepherd has been running Back to Basics living camps here for more then 30 years and we now want to invite campers to our picturesque Yurt village. We can show kids what farm life is all about and how to make fun in the bush or you can just come and enjoy the peace and quiet. Apart from abundant wildlife we farm sheep and Scottish Highland cattle. We also have lots of horses and dogs and you can collect fresh eggs from our chickens. Take a stroll through our gardens, a hike to the Peace yurt and boil the Billy or learn about growing vegetables. We have toilets and a kitchen yurt for your convenience. We look forward to meeting you!

Chillout Yurt for us girls

1 site · Lodging2 acres · TAS
Female only! Stay in a bohemian traditional Mongolian Ger (yurt) on a beautiful Australian native garden of 2 acres overlooking Mercury Passage and fascinating Maria Island. Private yet safely contained within the property Would be ideal for single travelling female if any age who wishes to explore this beautiful area. Visit the stunning Maria Island, 20 minutes away to the Triabunna ferry. Visit Freycinet and the Tasman Peninsula. Hobart is 75 minutes away, airport 50 minutes. East Coast Tasmania..nowhere better! Enjoy lots of activities in the area and come back to your serene surroundings. The Seadragon Yurt is basic and rustic. It's cosy, has minimal facilities but you can boil a kettle, microwave a meal (home cooked meals $15 booked in advance) a porta porti and main bathroom facilities in my house twice daily.. There's an armchair, a wood stove, a single comfortable stretcher bed. Microwave, tea & coffee. Filtered rainwater. BYO sheets & towels or let me know and I can provide. I'm a respectable distance away but your privacy is as important to you as it is to me. Park on-site and you have a private entrance. There are two silly labradors who may visit you outside so you do need to be a dog person. If not.. sorry the yurt is not for you. Please note this is a female only property.

Yurts in Australia guide

Overview

For a glamping experience that's close enough to real camping without giving up your home comforts (and far more Instagrammable than your average camper cabin), a yurt rental makes the perfect compromise. These quirky round tents are available across Australia to suit all tastes and budgets, whether you prefer an eco yurt in the heart of the countryside, a luxury yurt for a romantic getaway, or a family-sized yurt with bunk beds. Comfy beds come as standard, and most yurts offer both air-conditioning and heating, ideal for keeping cool during the balmy Aussie summers or cosying up on crisp winter evenings. You might even get an outdoor hot tub or a private deck with a barbecue (this is Australia, after all). Choose a yurt with views of the Blue Mountains in NSW, a riverside yurt in Western Australia, or a private Hipcamp in the countryside of Queensland.
