The history of the region is told on the walls of the Peel Inn, which along with 'Glenoak', a once leading merino stud in the district, now cattle property, has been owned by the Schofield family since the 1860's. In the last 50 years, Robert and Margaret Schofield have been delivering a tasty combination of traditional Australian and Asian dishes, depending on the backgrounds of visiting chefs.Our property currently runs only a small number of sheep, soon to add goats for cheese production. The area is bordered by trees, offering protection on the sides, whilst allowing for clear skies above to recharge your solar batteries. We do have separate male and female toilets for your convenience. Please note, however, they are up a set of stairs so are not wheelchair friendly. There is a barbeque available to use. Plus, feel free to cozy up around a contained fire, however, you MUST adhere to current NSW Fire Brigade restrictions/conditions. Whether you're looking for a brief overnight stay or a short retreat, our campsite is a quiet oasis along your journey.

Most importantly, guests have exclusive use of our property in each area, so you don't have to share with other visitors. We are near Mount Royal National Park, adjoining the Barrington Tops wilderness area. The area is part of the World Heritage listed Gondwana Rainforest Reserves, a place of great scenic beauty and natural diversity. Best of all, it is quiet and away from the crowds. Whether you want an easy walk in nature and peace, an adventurous climb to see a breathtaking view, or are in training for an epic multi-day walk, Mount Royal National Park provides excellent bushwalking opportunities. Camping is available on a secluded and tranquil area on our organic farm, located in steep gorge country. Cleared areas with grass tracks provide for relaxing bushwalks or energetic mountain biking across the hilly terrain which extends to heavily timbered, steep terrain up to a lookout for scenic views to surrounding valleys. The local geology is a mix of basalt and conglomerate, creating wonderful rocky outcrops to explore. The organic farm is ideal for bird watchers, nature lovers, those who love an unspoiled, private spot to camp. There is limited phone service along the hilltops should it be needed. We are happy to offer a digital detox on this part of the farm, where you can be soothed by nature’s birdsong and vibrant beauty. We do have cattle grazing the property and therefore we ask that you do not bring your pets. Access to East Camp is 4wd only and during dry weather only. 4wd camper vans and trailers are not able to access the Hut and camps with amenities. East Camp is an exclusive camp located on a grassy hilltop with extensive views across the valley. This is 4wd only with access for some 4WD campervans and trailers. Self-contained adventurers only. BYO toilet. Limited phone service.

We are offering sites that are all self-sufficient and range from motorhome accessible to 4WD accessible and further away from the homestead. Sleeping under the stars, back to nature, and back to basics. We do have stock grazing in the same area and some are friendly whereas others are shy, we do ask to respect them and considering they are part of the experience😉. Pets as in dogs are only permitted after discussing it directly with us, and they would need to be kept contained as in tied up. There are Roos, native animals, and other livestock on neighbouring properties and we respect the natural instincts of dogs. You will be shown to your campsite and have free access to come and go of course. You are welcome to spend time at the main house and there is phone reception across the property. We can also provide fresh eggs from our chickens! We are offering an experience of staying in nature and back to basics in a peaceful environment away from the hustle and grind.
