Platypus Waterhole Kanimbla

Platypus Waterhole is rented out as one site exclusive to the booking.  This exclusivity allows our guests complete privacy. We are located on a cattle property less that two hours out of the rush and business of cities. Our camping site is suitable for groups up to 20 people.
The camp site is close to two creeks, Blackheath Creek and Little Stoney Creek where the protected Platypus are frequently seen, along with our wombats and kangaroos.
Cox’s River is a ten minute drive suitable for swimming and fishing.
We have a compost toilet, outdoor shower (restricted water) covered camp kitchen with tap water from tank, BBQ, fire pit indoors/outdoors, table, chairs, sleeping area, tent area,
shade trees, picturesque site.

.  We charge all guests a one-off exclusivity site fee. This applies to all guests whether you book one night or seven nights. You need to add this to your booking.

This is an exclusive private camping area on the beautiful Blackheath Creek.

The camping area has a fantastic shelter/camp kitchen with internal fireplace, wood fired stove, sink, running water & a preparation area together with a gas BBQ & large dining table with bench seats. 

There is hot water and an open air shower. A long drop toilet is located nearby. At night the shelter is lit by solar powered lights & the glow of the campfire. The shelter is accessible by 4WD. Dogs are not permitted. Limited firewood
is provided.

Aurora-Exclusive Blue Mountains

Aurora is set on 150 acres of natural terrain with breath taking escarpment views, an abundance of animal life a running stream and dams

The property offers multiple camping spots located only 2 hrs from Sydney's inner city CBD. It is a secluded location, you will be sent a map with clear directions on how to find us once booking is confirmed.

Dogs are welcome but must be on a lead and well behaved around native animals and livestock. 4WD and AWD sites available no 2WD access

With only a 15min - 20min drive to Jenolan Caves, Aurora is the perfect camp spot for a weekend of adventure or take some time to reflect, relax and refocus. Campfires permitted if restrictions aren't in place and wood can be purchased in advance ready to go. 

Guest are expected to remove all their rubbish from the site - leave only footprints.    No caravans larger than 21ft. - (Vans Aurora view site only)

Hartley Vale Garlic Farm

The Hartley Vale Garlic Farm was established in 2018 as an organic garlic farm now owned by James and Michelle and their two children. The farm features a hempcrete building named 'The Stinking Rose' used for drying and curing garlic, that also acts as a big room for garlic feasts during planting (March, April and May each year). The building also houses toilet and shower facilities for guests when camping on site. On some evenings, the sky puts on a real show of golden sun rays with pink, purple and blue clouds while swallows flit across the garden beds catching moths. Our guests like to sit around their campfires watching the spectacular show while kids and dogs run around without the burden of leashes or noise of city traffic.

Redgate Farmstay

Nestled in a mountainscape just off the highway but in a world of its own lies Redgate Farmstay. We host campers and glampers in Tiny Homes. We love to share our special spot on this property.

Redgate dates back to the late 1800s as a site that convicts built a barricade and huts along. You will have a sense of this when you enter through the old rustic cattle sheds and cattle crush. 

We have constructed our Tiny Homes in keeping with the style of the property. Over the driveway is the Biobank Stewardship area (that joins to a quiet State Reserve) that is protecting a rare butterfly, possum and tiny bat. Take walks in this area but tread lightly!

Enjoy the best of the comforts of flushing toilets (supplied by our own rain water tank) and electricity connected to solar whilst enjoying the surrounds of a beautiful spot in nature. 

You'll feel a world away, and best enjoyed with a small group, 2 families or 2 couples! 

Well behaved pets are welcome (there are horses in the adjacent paddock that might come say hello). Enjoy walks on our extensive property and breathe in the mountain air. 

Kayaking is available for a small booking fee of $10 per kayak.

Please note there are other guests at other places in the property (Homestead and Container Home) along our 650m dirt driveway in separate locations.  

Guests can relax beside a tranquil dam and enjoy a private outdoor BBQ firepit area.

Megalong Valley Farm

BEFORE YOU BOOK: 
Please be advised that we do not permit campers to arrive after hours, you need to arrive prior to 5.30 when the office is open in order to get the site allocation, 
1. We are not permitting people to set up in the dark, it is totally black, no lighting in wilderness zone  and far too difficult to locate your site, and it disturbs other campers. 
2. If you have other campers coming make sure you book on the one booking otherwise you will not be placed together.
Our property is nestled in 2000 acres of totally private wilderness in the centre of the lush valley in the heart of the  Blue Mountains.
Experience the magnificent ancient rainforest glen with a canopy of tree ferns, caves and huge towering gum trees. 
Savour the moment and feel the magic of simplicity in our world of nature.   Renowned for their spectacular scenery, the Megalong Valley Farm offers fresh mountain air, history and  wildlife.
Guests can expect some of the most spectacular sunsets, sunrises and scenery in the Blue Mountains.  While you're here, check out some of the iconic destinations our region has to offer.

BEFORE YOU ARRIVE
PHONES: Phone reception is good, there is a Telstra exchange on the property.
ROADS: Roads around the sites are unsealed, but most normal cars and the average SUV handle it okay. The road down into the Megalong Valley is tar sealed, very scenic but winding.
ICE: Bring your own ice
WOOD: Timber for fires can be purchased at reception. We are an environmental biodiversity precinct so don’t permit damage to vegetation.
FIRES: Plenty of existing fire spots
SHOPS: The township of Blackheath is 15klm away up on the Gt Western Hwy, none in the Valley
SHADE: Plenty of shady areas
WATER: We are on town water
TOILETS there are 3 men's and 3 women's, plus 8 at reception, plus 2 in the Lodge. plus 3 in pioneer and 3 in corner paddock
SHOWERS: 3 gas hot water showers in men's, 3 in women's, plus 2 in Lodge
NOISE: Shutdown time for music is 10pm - no exceptions! but you can still enjoy the fires - quietly.
THINGS TO DO: 
SCENIC RAILWAY 25 Klms away at Katoomba and 40 minutes travel time
BIKE  and WALKING TRACKS: Plenty of bush tracks, plus walks up at Porters Pass and Blackheath 
Dont forget to bring along some bread to feed the horses and donkeys - they love it
You are reminded to allow enough time to arrive for this property.prior to dark, which is 5.0 in winter. 
It is difficult to find a wilderness campsite in the dark and disturbs other campers.
We are requiring  ALL vehicles to get registered PRIOR to going up to the site, resulting from so many vehicles trespassing at the venue and causing nuisances for other campers 
Please indicate the details of cars such as make, model , colour and rego number prior to arrival.
 We must also remind campers that this is not a venue for noisy partying as we are a quiet wilderness environmental zone. We do not tolerate it and will remove offenders. Other campers treasure the peace and quiet.
