We are located 5 minutes from the Burrendong Arboretum, only 7 minutes from Lake Burrendong where you can try your hand at activiites such as fishing, boating, swimming, kayaking, canoeing and much more. If you book one of our bell tent sites you can select to get a free access card to Lake Burrendong which lets you enter the Park as many times as you like totally free. If you don't mind a little drive we are only 1/2 an hour from the iconic Wellington Caves, 1 hour from Dubbo and Orange where you can visit wonderful attractions such as the Dubbo Western Plains Zoo, Old Dubbo Gaol, Orange Ophir Gold Mine, 1.5 hours from beautiful Mudgee wineries and much much more. There are plenty of tourist activities which surround our beautiful property that you can visit, that is if you wish to leave the serenity of Stockyard.

    Our property is in Evans Plains, just 15km from Bathurst. We have a number of large grassy sites available with plenty of space and privacy for everyone. The property has an abundance of wildlife, with a Koala colony, Kangaroos, Wallabies, Wombats, Echidnas, Platypus (rarely seen), Parrots, Eagles, and possums for those who enjoy wildlife watching you will be spoilt for choice. Evans Plains Creek also contains alluvial gold which results in the area being very popular for gold panning. Bathurst Mt. Panorama racetrack is 15 km east of the property. The Bathurst goldfields can also be found at the mount. The rural gold mining town of Sofala (Australia's oldest surviving gold town) is 60km north on all sealed roads. Pets are welcome but must be kept on a leash so that they do not disturb livestock or native animals. Campfires are allowed but campers must bring their own fire pit if they would like a fire. Only fallen wood on the ground may be collected. Campers must also have their own camping toilet and take all waste/rubbish with them on departure. There are no designated campsites within the 145 hectares (360 acres) campground.

    We are situated 10km out of Parkes which is home to the famous Dish and the annual Elvis Festival. Set on a gentle slope, it boasts picturesque views of the surrounding farmland, tranquil dams and lush native vegetation. Guests are offered access to stroll around our 18acre property by foot only. Vehicles are to be kept at the camp site however. Pets are allowed but must be on leash at all times. We do have a dog, chooks and guinea fowls and the nature of the property abundant wildlife may be present. Guests are welcome to enjoy a camp fire in the designated area during the winter months when the local regulations permit. The statutory Bush Fire period is from 1st October to 31st March. A chemical toilet in a rustic shed is available for your convenience.     In the early 1970’s Mr James, the owner of 'Biara', subdivided three 25 acre blocks across the road from the original homestead. The first block was sold to his nephew, the middle block was to be purchased by the Preston family and ‘The Gateway’ was purchased by a Mr Carveth. Unfortunately, the sale of the middle block fell through then, due to family illness, 'Biara' was sold and the family moved to Blackheath. After this move, and as thank you to his son, Mr James transferred the title of the middle of the three subdivided blocks to his only son, William. Back in the late 1960’s, early 1970’s, the area was vastly different than it is today. Travelling to school entailed a car trip to Hargraves then bus to Mudgee which would have been a 2 hour round trip! The area was far more isolated as there was no power and entailed an overland phone line, which had to be regularly repaired if residents wanted to be able to communicate with the outside world. The site allows mainly for camping and relaxing although there are numerous dirt roads to explore, Mudgee wineries close by and Burrendong Dam not far away (accessible via Hill End Road near Erudgere). Hargraves is also known for it's alluvial gold deposits and fossickers still go there regularly to check out Louisa Creek. There is 15km's of dirt road which needs to be traveled to reach the property. Dependent on weather, and if it has been graded recently, this road can be in varying states of repair. In heavy rain it may be difficult to get 2WD access via the public road due to the clay content in the road . Kangaroo, wallaby, owl species, kookaburra, echidna, snakes, various lizards, including shinglebacks, are often seen on these roads and the property.

More than 50 different cold climate seasonal vegetables and flowers are grown on 3 acres and sold at the Bathurst Farmers' Markets, as well as from the farm gate shop and box deliveries around town.     Approximately 45 minutes from Orange, 4 hours from Sydney. The region between Molong and Parkes offers scenic views, bush walking, bush camping, picnic areas, mountain biking trails, and 4WD touring. To the northwest lies Goobang National Park that includes Caloma lookout, one of the high points in the Wanda Wandong sector of Goobang National Park. The area is a bird watchers' paradise - you can often spot birds of prey, such as wedge-tailed eagles, brown goshawks and brown falcons, soaring across the sky. Black cypress pines, grevilleas, lomandras and heath feature commonly on the landscape. There are many tall grass trees in this area too, some of which are believed to be hundreds of years old. This is a large property that is taking a break from sheep farming. Covered in gum trees and pines and lots of open space. The property has a creek with all year round water holes and dams. You can do almost anything you want. Hiking, fishing, swimming, camping and living the dream. There's emus (bush chooks), kangaroos (hopping dogs), platypus and no drop bears, meaning you can sit back, relax and go back to the way it was. Self sufficient campers only, leave no trace. You must bring your own camping toilet and shower. If booking under the Group listing, you will need to arrange you own portaloos, which I am happy to manage delivery/pick up of with the local hire company. It's 15 minutes to the pub in town if you're up for a coldie or a meal. ​Our farm is a work in progress.

    Unwind in the seclusion of this private and safe bush camping site on the banks of the Wambuul-Macquarie River in the remote Killongbutta valley located half-way between Bathurst and Orange. It’s a place where time stands still. Enabling you to reconnect with nature as you slow down and embrace the sounds of the river, wildlife and sheoaks when they ‘whisper secrets to the wind’. Many stories and dreamings have come from this place which guarantees to inspire your imagination as an artist, writer, poet or musician. You have access to 100 acres of bushland or enjoy a walk along Killongbutta Road which winds its way through spectacular Wiradjuri country where ancient stone quarries, corroboree sites and a warrior’s grave have been found. Platypus, water dragons and river rats all live in the river. Be prepared to share the site with wombats who have burrowed their homes into the banks. Road access to site is suitable for 2WD in dry weather. It is a short, steep drop with two tight corners not suitable for large caravans and RVs. The site has a newly constructed long drop toilet, pets are allowed and firewood can be foraged around the site but best to bring your own to ensure you have enough. Please take all rubbish with you. Please note: Kids under 12 are free to support young families wanting to experience the bush. Please still add them to the booking as they will not be charged. What is not allowed: shooters and trappers, illegal fishing, motor bikes, quad bikes, chainsaws, and other noisy machines! Killongbutta Road runs off Freemantle Road and is 36 kms from Bathurst. It is 40 kilometres from Orange through Gowan Road that joins Lower Lewis Ponds Road. For your information, On the Stone is a podcast and publishing studio that produces a quarterly magazine for the Freemantle Road community. We have local history to share and can always provide information about our services. We look forward to providing exclusive access to our river site for campers who will appreciate and respect this place which is our home.

The orchard is in the heart of Cabonne Shire, the fruit bowl of Central West NSW. Orange is renowned for its wineries, restaurants and cafes. At our farm stall you can grab a coffee, light lunch and a great variety of local produce including fruit, vegetables, eggs, honey, olive oil and jams. Just minutes away, Mt Canobolas and Lake Canobolas offer great bushwalking and mountain biking and Borenore Caves is amazing for exploring. Or visit one of the many local wineries. Our neighbours at Orange Mountain Estate Wines are less then 100m walk from our camp sites. A visit with them is a perfect way to finish your day and then stroll back to camp. We accept caravans, camper trailers, motorhomes and tents to stay at our property.

    Looking for some peace and tranquility? We'd love for you to enjoy a spot in front of our creek on our 53 acre property, Brazenhead, which is surrounded by 1.3kms of the Winburndale Rivulet. Brazenhead is a 15 minute drive to the closest shops, 20 minutes into Bathurst, 30 minutes from Sofala and 1 hour from the historic Hill End. There is ample space for groups, with wide open spaces but also plenty of trees for shade. Fires are permitted in the spots provided and according to local fire restrictions. The creek is a good spot to try some gold panning, go exploring and also has some deep swimming holes for you to enjoy. Pitch your tent or pull up your camping vehicle next to our creek! You will have complete privacy, only the kangaroos and other wildlife to share your trip with. There is plenty of space for the kids to run around, kick a ball, play some cricket, or go exploring along the creek during the day. In the evenings everyone can sit and relax in the quiet in front of a campfire. We welcome only self-contained campers who bring their own camping toilet/shower. The campsite is 2WD accessible with plenty of room and flat space to camp on. Not far from our property you can find the Bridle Track, which is very well known by 4WD enthusiasts. It was originally built as the first road between Bathurst and Hill End during the gold rush era, and was given its name due to horsemen having to dismount and guide their horses by the bridle through the very narrow sections. If you visit in November you may be here for the annual Marmalade Festival, with good weather, musicians, stalls and of course jams and marmalades! No pets please.

    We are Marilyn and Peter, we own, live and run a mixed farming business from this beautiful land, located in the Central Tablelands NSW. The country varies between undulating and steep land and has 7 km of double frontage Bell River running through it. The river can range from rapidly flowing to the more usual steady flowing and is most often very clear. The river has numerous swimming spots, some with a rocky base, and some with sand. The winding river and the varying countryside is incredibly peaceful and beautiful and is a perfect retreat for those looking to disconnect and relax. The river has its origin near Orange and is also fed into by many springs. Weandre Creek runs in the backcountry and winds into the Bell River. Our comfortable Hut is situated on an elevated spot looking down on the river with a graduated road leading down. It has everything you need for a relaxing, recharging stay in nature. The Hut can accommodate up to 4 people, however, you also have the option for up to 6 additional guests to set up swags, tents, or a camper trailer nearby. There is space next to the Hut, or for those with a 4WD, there are some lovely camping sites down by the river. We also offer sites for those looking for a self-contained camping site, in a beautiful location. We love the solitude, the endless bush walks, swimming, and being immersed in nature. We are confident you will too. We also have a lovely art gallery on the property, and for a small fee and prior arrangement, you are welcome to come and take a look. From our farm, it is 60 km to Orange with all its wineries, food festivals, and many attractions. Wellington is 40 km and boasts the Wellington Caves. Dubbo is 90 km and is a big inland city and boasts the Western Plains Zoo. We are so glad to let you know we have a new (but intentionally rustic) structure which houses a shower powered by gas and solar with gravity fed water. Showers need to be short because water supply is limited. In a separate space is a gas BBQ and sink. This is pictured in our latest photos. This building also looks down on the Bell river which looks sensational at the moment due to all the rain.

    Situated upon a hill top, "Orangewood", is a 44 acre working cattle farm in the southern Orange wine region. When the holiday home has NO booked guests, we make this available for 1 lucky camper group. You park your camper/van or RV away from the house for privacy, peace and quiet on the Western side of the property. No one else will be at the property except occasional day maintenance people on a separate driveway to house. Have a lovely and peaceful stay on a farm yet you also get to wander around the gardens and experience the HUGE pool, many grassed and seating areas to relax with the wonderful views of the countryside. Kangaroos are now venturing closer to the house and there's lots of birdlife. Kid friendly too, kids can play on tree swings, ride bikes supplied in the shed, enjoy the wood play area. *** PLEASE REQUEST YOUR DATES and I will accept IF THERE is availability . DO NOT ASSUME your request is a CONFIRMED BOOKING** We have to manage these requests manually to avoid house booking clashes. What you need to know: 1. No guests will be staying in the house whilst you are camping. The owners however may be there for the day if cleaning or doing maintenance, but we will keep out of your way. 2. Best availability tends to be weekdays as the house usually has weekend bookings. 3. The Pool is only OPEN from Dec to April. It is not heated except for the solar blankets. It's a cool climate region so the pool is the warmest for Jan/Feb only. Shallow ends 1m with the middle of pool being 2m deep. 4. You are welcome to use all the outdoor entertaining areas although BBQ, utility room with laundry, toilet, multi purpose sink and very basic kitchenette is an additional cost. 5. We can't guarantee a resort style clean pool as this is a farm and leaves blow in and bugs. It gets serviced twice a week. 6. Whilst the property is 44 acres in total, only a few acres is useable due to the cattle paddocks. 7. No pets. They interfere with cattle and the kangaroos. 8. Optional BBQ, electricity power and optional utility/laundry room with toilet (all additional cost). There's no guarantees we can provide the extras if we aren't given at least a few days notice. Campers that are completely self contained are easier to accept with short notice.

    Burrill Banks is a 35-acre hobby farm just off the Newell Highway, approximately 33km from Parkes, NSW, home to the famous ELVIS Festival (8th- 12th January). Just a few Km up the road is the famous Parkes telescope, or "The Dish". Large cropping and sheep farms surround us. We have 35 sheep, 2 dogs and a small friendly horse. Burrill Banks is on Burrill Creek which runs down from the Harvey’s Ranges to the east of Goobang National Park. The creek is often dry through the summer. The camping area is about 7 acres with open and treed areas. It is on the south side of Burril Creek'. The site can accommodate up to 8 caravans. Alectown is historically a farming and gold mining area with mine shafts from the 1800’s dotted across the area. You can visit an open-cut gold mine in Peak Hill 15 km north of Burrill Banks. For walking and bike tracks plus tonnes of sites and activities, visit the Parkes Visitors Centre.
