Children will also find fairy homes .Fern Gully is a very tranquil place. If you would like to meet the horse's, just message me to come and meet them,They are Arabians and love attention. There is 1 km of creek to explore with great fishing spots you can catch Perch ,Cat fish Mullet ,and Carp. The creek is good to kayak. One of our favourite things to do is fossicking you can find Quartz, Citrine and Jasper. The Village of Wiangaree is just 4klm from the camp grounds they have great coffee and hot food and also do Friday night meals. And in walking distance of 200 meters is Ferndale Pantry which sells sourdough, eggs, chutneys, cakes and more. We are also a 10klm drive to to the Border Rangers National Park. The Campgrounds are beautifully shaded and are situated on the creek. There are 5 spacious dispersed sites which can have 12 people. ,Each site can have 2 vehicles which include caravan/trailers ect. There are fire pits available and fire wood is available for $20 a wheelbarrow full just ask on arrival. Rubbish must be taken with you when you leave. There is no toilet. There are public toilets 4klm away at Wiangaree. And no potable water. Enjoy your stay at the beautiful Scrub. Check in from 1pm onwards and checkout at midday. We look forward to meeting you.. We are NOT a 4WD adventure park so vehicles must be parked up at your site on arrival and left there unless leaving the property to go to town/tourist activities. Any exploration of the property or travel to toilets is strictly on foot only- NO 4WD'ing. Anyone driving around the property will be asked to leave. We have sites both near the creek and facilities and up on the plateau. Our elevated/remote sites require capable 4WD's with off-road/AT tyres and campers need to be fully self-sufficient including having their own sealed chemical camping toilet and an ensuite/privacy tent. If you don't have your own commercial chemical camping toilet then you will be given a choice of sites with access to facilities. We reserve the right to view/verify your toilet before allowing you access to the elevated/remote sites. Caravans are restricted on where they can access- with no guarantee of sufficient sunlight for solar. Elevated/remote sites cannot be reached with a caravan- please bear this in mind if booking with a caravan. Well behaved dogs are welcome as long as they are on a lead when moving about the property. Please let us know if you wish to bring a dog and you will be allocated an appropriate site as some areas of the property are designated 'dog-free' camping zones. The common area (old shearing shed) has composting toilets, communal fridge, microwave, jug, drinking water, sink for washing up and table/chairs. There is 500 m of (shallow) creek frontage, kms of walking/riding trails and grassy creek flats for recreational activities. Over the decades, the property has been used to farm goats, train racing camels and spell racehorses. There is also a variety of fruit trees and plantation timber. Please note that arrival must be in daylight hours with sufficient time for orientation, travel to your site and set up before dark. However, everyones favourite part of the property is the flat, manicured campsite where the Door Doon Creek meets the Tweed River. With easy access to Kyogle road this 2 acre campsite offers absolute river frontage, landscaped gardens, fireplaces and enough room to get away from it all. Relax and unwind by the river or explore the many options on your doorstep, including Fishing, Canoeing, Kayaking (plenty of river to paddle, or Clarrie Hall Dam is 900m up the road). There are also many bike and walking tracks literally on your doorstep as well as the Murwillumbah Rail Trail less than 25 mins away. The other HUGE attraction to recently open is the world class UKI MOUNTAIN BIKE PARK (about a 4 min drive). Feel free to ask us for the best local swimming holes, waterfalls, and hiking tracks around the area. PLEASE NOTE: There are no toilets on site so you MUST HAVE YOUR OWN TOILET. Please leave the property as you find it and take everything with you. There are also public toilets at the village of UKI just 2kms up Kyogle Rd.
