McKenzies Mountain is a tranquil campsite offering spacious and well-maintained sites with beautiful views. Campers appreciate its proximity to Murwillumbah and the friendly, knowledgeable host, James, who is always willing to lend a hand. While most reviews are glowing, a few noted that the toilets could be cleaner. Visitors enjoy the peacefulness, access to the river, and the opportunity to explore local attractions.

This is such a magic spot! An incredible view of mt wollumbin & mt warning (the cloud catcher) in the background. Fantastic to set up a base and explore the area or to simply unwind. James is a wonderful character with plenty of knowledge and stories to share! What are you waiting for?

McKenzie's Mountain Review
5 m pop-up camper ·
Great place to stay. Wide river frontage to the freshwater Oxley river. Great place to swim. James the owner is probably one of the nicest people you will meet. There is a Hare Krishna community next to his property and they allow visitors. James has cattle and in the spring the new born calves are great for the kids. Mount Warning's peak can be seen to the south and the property lays inside the caldera. There are turtles, catfish, freshwater eels and even the occasional platypus. If you're after an authentic camping experience then McKenzie's Mountain is the place for you!

Love paddock camping at Mckenzies Mountain. The owner is full of knowledge and very helpful, portaloo very clean, and lots of fire pits. Took the grandkids (5 & 7) had a ball, from tree climbing, crystal fossicking to swimming in the river. Highly recommend. Will be back very soon. A slice of heaven
