Famous surf spots and iconic rainforests draw caravan campers to the natural beauty of Lennox Head.
A National Surfing Reserve of Australia, Lennox Head draws swell chasers and caravan campers in droves. The best time for big waves is winter (specifically June), but the hotter summer months reign supreme for swimming. Stay at holiday parks in town—some feature caravan pitches with full hookups on concrete or grass. Then, take a drive north for a view of Nightcap National Park, which offers a World Heritage rainforest. Cruise into the Whian Whian State Conservation area to find campsites offering BBQ facilities and picnic tables. Then check out Minyon Falls Lookout to search for kookaburras. Back to the coast, and an hour south from Lennox Head, sits Bundjalung National Park where caravanners can ride mountain bike trails, canoe scenic river bends, and scavenge the shoreline for sea shells. There are a few campsites that accommodate campervans and motorhomes to choose from, some with basic amenities like grill-top fire rings and pit toilets, and others with drinking water, shower facilities, and boat launches.
