This NSW South Coast town has lakes, natural wonders, and delicious oysters.
If you can’t choose between a beachside getaway or a lakeside retreat, Narooma checks both boxes. On the shores of the Wagonga Inlet, hemmed in by gleaming lagoons and surf beaches, you’ll never be far from the water in this South Coast beach town. Head to Narooma Beach to surf with views of the Glasshouse Rocks, go snorkelling and scuba diving, or cruise to Montague Island to spot seals, little penguins, and migrating whales. There’s plenty of fun to be had on dry land, too, whether teeing off at the coastal golf course, tucking into fresh oysters at a seafood restaurant, or hiking in Bodalla State Forest. Campers have options, whether checking into one of the Discovery Parks, snagging one of the unpowered sites at the Mystery Bay camping area, or seeking out a rural Hipcamp. Or try nearby Eurobodalla National Park, which has everything from motorhome campsites and primitive tent sites to glamping.
